About NASA not getting funded. What's the last great discovery they made? Nothing thats what. Just a waste of tax dollars.

Ditto on getting a passport. I took the plunge, spent a good part of my paycheck and got mine back in July. Glad I did, so I can get the f**k out of this cesspool. The U.S. house of cards is slowly collapsing.

Yeah, a total waste of tax dollars. They only gave us everything from long distance telecommunication to GPS satellites to microwaves to LVADs and dialysis machines. There are a million things that are wastes of money in government, but NASA is not one of them. Without them, any loved one you know that has been on the wait for a kidney transplant would be dead, anyone with advanced heart failure would be dead, and the very laptop I am typing on right now would not exist. They developed the CT scanner to test for flaws in rocket parts, a completely bullshit device that I could never see any use for whatsoever. They are a complete waste of 0.8% of the federal budget. We could be spending that 17.8 billions dollars to supplement America's 535 billion dollar a year gambling habit, 300 billion dollar a year alcohol budget, or our 94 billion dollar a year tobacco habits. The nearly 1,500 inventions that range from athletic footwear to water filtration systems to cordless power tools are complete crap and have not contributed to our economy at all in any way.
Here's some of the useless shit NASA has come up with because we needed it for space travel and other things:

That rant aside, all of the Americans on this forum are completely f***ed if the government goes into default. The value of the dollar will implode, interest rates and inflation will skyrocket, and the global financial system will have a crisis that makes 2008 look like a boom year. The Tea Party would rather see the world burn to the ground than allow Obamacare to become a reality, and we're all going to pay for their ideology. A passport isn't going to do any of us much good if our dollars are worth as much as the PHP.

What surprises me the most is how long the US dollar has been able to go without crashing, I thought it would have happened by now. How much longer the government can keep this circus going I have no idea. They are spending 85 billion a month to keep the US economy going with no way of paying it back. As I have said before, the Canadian Dollar, the Euro and the Swiss Franc are part of the US Dollar Index and when the US Dollar does crash its taking the rest of the world currencies with it. A price drop below 79 cents(long term support) would signal a major breakdown.

In the past it may have been valuable, but now it seems to be another self-admin scam, with a bunch of little offices popping up with females administrating each other and looking after each other's feelings. It they would fire all females and other AA dross, then they might be worth funding.

NASA is 19% female. It isn't exactly overrun with women. And those offices are where most of the useful tech comes from. The most conservative estimate on NASA's contribution to the economy is that for every dollar we spend, 2 to 3 dollars of private economic activity is created by the transfer of their technology to private industry. You would basically be cutting off your nose to spite your face if you defunded them. You would cost the economy 100-200% of what you would save and eliminate one of only two decent research departments in our government. Then again, I'm aware you are in the camp of you would rather watch the world burn than compromise at all ever. Plus you think we're all doomed anyways. It kind of makes your opinion on anything that would benefit the future of humanity sort of moot.

In all honesty, I think we are going the route of Japan, except with less savings via the middle class, and more towards central savings.
