It seems that all real US military officers are to be fired and replaced with affirmative action non-entities who are too stupid and worthless to save the US from oblivion by staging a coup. I wonder how much of this can occur without the US military being defeated on all fronts in a series of devastating routs and massacres.

I'm glad people like her are proving to you to just how worthless you are. Yours is but a modern day attitude of "the fox and the grapes."

Your wounds of being a loser at all you are and all you do sting as if salt were smashed into them when you read about other peoples' success. I love to read how you seethe with resentment and anger at reading such news.

I don't know anything about that new Admiral, but if all you can do is demean her as a flunky, you should research the term "projection" and understand just how that applies to you.

Keep notifying us of non-white people who are successful so we can further acknowledge you as jealous, poor white trash waiting to be taken out to the curb.

She has a solid service history and no negative marks on her record that I could find. I see nothing wrong with this. There have been female generals and admirals in the military for quite some time, some of which were critical to military operations. Rear Admiral Hopper would be quite displeased at your shenanigans if she weren't dead after one of the longest careers in military history.

Overall I think this is great news. America will be less able to bully other countries around in the future.

My mother was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. She could make sound decisions and kill without a second thought, if she had to and wasn't really prone to the emotional bullshit most women were. Some women aren't wired like others, and command positions suit them just fine. Most women, however, are not cut out for it. You really need to look at it on an individual level.

Look at Israel's military. They are pretty damn ruthless and efficient despite being the largest percent female of any army in the world and having women in combat and command roles. The vast majority of officers will continue to be men for the forseeable future, so I really see no point in fretting over one well qualified woman reaching the upper ranks.

Please, present one reason an otherwise well qualified female member of the armed forces should not be able to reach said rank. I would like to hear your well crafted (and in no way emotionally driven like some sort of woman would be) argument. And feel free to join the armed forces and excel to take the places of these women if it grinds your gears so badly. You're a prime specimen of male intellect, reason, and strategy that would surely be welcomed with open arms into the ranks of the admirals, no doubt.

The last major victory for the Israeli army was in 1973. Women were only accepted into leadership roles after that, certainly to the detriment of the Israeli army.

Women's brains are not wired to lead combat missions and, for that reason, men's brains are not wired to follow women leaders on combat missions. It is possible that a small number of women may be qualified to be soldiers, but the number is too insignificant to matter and their value is less than the harm they do to cohesion by having mixed-sex units. But women are absolutely never qualified to lead in combat.

Sorry but I won't be volunteering anytime soon to fight for your country. I just live here, I don't consider it my country.

Why is a woman unqualified to lead in combat? I want a legitimate answer. I don't have a single military friend that minds working with or taking orders from a female officer. The new generation of soldiers doesn't give a shit. So give me a reason besides unit cohesion. Anyone can effectively field a strategy, it is all about brains. To say no woman is capable of comprehending military strategy is baseless.

Are you seriously suggesting that most middle class blacks are appointed to their positions based on their merits rather than the lack thereof? She's served in combat assignments during the Gulf War. She is the commander of our anti-piracy operations in the Gulf region, and has done a damn good job of saving U.S. vessels and lives, and is regarded as one of the world's leading experts in maritime counterpiracy operations.

And women get shat on in the military, if they make one mistake they're looking at losing their commission much of the time. You can look up any number of stories of women being booted out for shit that male commanders get away with all the time. So for her to have made it this far, she must have been damn good at both her job and covering her ass.

She's a more useful human being than you will ever be, that's for sure. I mean, what have you ever done? Have you served your country, saved lives, protected vital trade routes, and reached a level of knowledge at which you are consulted by leaders around the world? Nah, more likely you've just bummed about and then complained afterward that you failed at life because of black people and women and the Jews, because that's a lot easier to swallow than concluding you just suck balls at life.

Forget it, HouseMD. We basically agree here. We both support this woman's promotion, just for very different reasons.
