This was just recently in the news, here is the link to the article:

In summary, it appears scientists can create embryos from cells taken from various places in the body, circumventing the need for intercourse or even a female.
It's long been taken for granted among feminists that men are expendable and women are vital because sperm is easy to get a hold of but pregnancy is difficult and time-intensive. This wouldn't be the first time the world's been turned upside down, but its ramifications could be sweeping.

Re: motherless babies - conception without a female egg
This is bunk. These is just another form of in vitro fertilization at this point. They want you to think they can do this. They have not yet even done this. It is only a theory. Even now, it says they have only used egg cells. Egg cells are what are normally fertilized. They haven't taken any other types of cells. They're only saying they think it is possible. Bogus news story is bogus. Science falsely so called.

What is science? And what makes you say it's falsely called science?
They didn't say they had done such a thing, they said they believe it is possible. They carefully differentiate between what they have done and what they merely believe is possible. That does not equate to a false claim. Seems the news story is an accurate reporting of the events.
Cloning, heart transplants, nuclear fission, space travel, brain scans, and high speed computing were all though laughable less than a century ago. Would you say the same thing if someone suggested menopause could be reversed? Don't speak too soon, it appears to be feasible:

Why would the scientists at the University of Bath want to mislead people, making phony claims about their capabilities? Such a deliberate deception is enough to topple a career.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that eight years of university plus years in the lab setting has taught the researchers something about the nature of sperm and egg cells, beyond what the general public is familiar with, that would lead them to believe that they can do the same thing with the sperm cells that they did with the egg cells. It's protocol for the trade to submit their findings to peer-reviewed journals, where other scientists can pick them apart. Nobody in that setting wants to make wild claims, only to end up looking like a fool.
