Pretty Girls Turning into Old Women

I had a female friend over in Asia back in the 1980s. We spent a lot of time on the phone. I'd just gotten there. She had a car, and she drove me around. But she was clear we couldn't date each other. She thought she would end up with this other fellow. I respected that. I might have considered a relationship with her, but realized after a bit that she thought of me as a 'little brother' and a relationship would have had a power struggle. She was about 5 years older than me, when I was in my mid 20's, maybe 30 back then, older than what I was interested in.
But I could tell she had feelings for me, and I had some for her at some points. I'm pretty sure that's while she stopped hanging out with me. It was kind of like a breakup, but we were not officially dating. It was for the best, ultimately. I actually invited her to my wedding. She showed up, and acted kind of weird and talked too much as she shook my hand (which they do there) and my wife commented on it. She was familiar with the back story.
But this woman was a 9+ for looks, close to a 10. She'd be among that small percentage of really, really pretty girls I encountered in Indonesia (my wife included) far on the right end of the bell curve for looks.
So, years later, I saw a video of her online. She looked like a middle-aged woman who you could tell used to be pretty. But yesterday, I saw a video of her, and she really looks like a Chinese grandma. She was mixed and I don't know that she ever married or had children, but that's what she looked like.
Beauty is fleeting. My wife is in her late 40's and is still retaining her looks and shape well. I can tell, though, that she is aging. I suspect those who saw me when I was young might be a little shocked to see me now. My wife is probably holding up better than I am. I am a few years older than my wife, and this friend of mine was about five years older than I am. I hope I don't look like an old man in five years. I hope my wife keeps her looks deep into old age.
Seeing women who used to be pretty looking like old women makes me feel older.
I'm putting this in Deep Philosophical Discussions because it has to do with pondering the shortness of life, and it doesn't fit well in other places.
