Google AdSense Policy Video on "mature content"

Thanks. I've already seen that video before. But there are too many gray areas. Plus no one can conform to that 100 percent. It's a judgment call ultimately.

Usually if you have a few offending pages, they don't care. It's only when they build up that they do. That's how their robot seems to work.

The video does not say whether all webpages with the word "sex" in the title should be removed or not. Is talking about having sex considered an infraction? It's not clear.

What is considered adult content in terms of text though?

I've already removed the most obvious offending images. They still say it's there though. What's left? I can't find anymore.

I also don't understand why Google is so strict about adult content? I don't think most advertisers care if their ads are on pages with adult content. Their primary interest is in getting traffic and clicks to their site that will result in sales and business. I don't think most advertisers are that puritannical.

Besides, advertisers have always used sex in their advertising, because sex sells. So why would they be puritannical about it, when they use it themselves? Thus these strict rules on adult content don't seem logical.

I got caught out a couple of years ago. I think ladyboy related content was the problem. But the funny thing is Ladyboy Kisses advertise on AdWords!

I think Google work on word/image association. Because so much ladyboy stuff appears on porn sites, Google will think that ladyboys are a "mature content" area.

Maybe HA has too many mature themes, with people mentioning mongering, or just going to the Phillies.

Again there are loads of alternatives to AdSense. Dating and travel are full of ways of monetizing sites.

Darn. The appeal was denied again. Why can't anyone here help me find the offending URL's? Maybe I should just remove ads from the forum. Here is the denial letter I got from Google.

I thought of something you didn't, demonstrating that human encyclopedias like yourself are not always the smartest or the most strategic. lol

I figured out a way to track down adult images on a website. Go to Google Images at:

http://images.google.com

Then enter your domain name URL in the search box. It will pull up hundreds of images from your site or blog. Then you can find the offending images quicker. I'm not sure if this will list all images from a website, but it will list many.

In doing this, I found another dozen offending images. Hope that's enough.

Well I got Adsense back to this site. But I had to do it by removing ads from this forum. You will only see them on a few pages. I'm not sure if I should put the ads back on all the content pages though. I'll see first if they are still profitable without being displayed in the forum. And then go from there.

True. But I can't read Google's mind. And I can't keep track of the 20,000 topics in this forum. lol

But you gotta give me credit for resourcefulness. In the Google help forum, others posted the same problem as me. But none of the advisors suggested that they could find the adult images using Google Images. Only I did. So I discovered the idea out of sheer resourcefulness. Thinking outside the box does have its rewards you know.

Oh man. I am so exhausted. I just spent hours finding more adult images in the forum and removing them or moving the threads to NSFW.

I went to Google Images again and in the search field entered "happierabroad.com" + some adult keywords. When I did so, many more adult images came up, more than I thought. Most of them were posted by Jamesbond or djfourmoney and others. There were links to porn sites too like xhamster and xvideos. I searched with every keyword I could think of where adult images might be.

I also used Yahoo Images and Bing Images to search for adult images here as well. Such image search engines are very helpful in tracking down any adult images here that are in violation of Google.

This took hours. Now I'm so exhausted. Whew. Oh well. At least I did something productive. Now I can be assured that most likely, all the forum content is no longer in violation of adult images anymore.

I've placed the Google ads back on the forum, by the way, in case you haven't noticed.

Who told you that Yahoo ads pay better? All the reports I read said that Adsense pays better.
