Racists in Brazil

Post by ladislav »

I asked a Brazilian on Quora if Blacks in Brazil were ever told to " Go back to Africa". Here is the answer CTTO ( translated from Portuguese)

"Brazilian racists are more insidious and cynical towards blacks, who since the beginning have been part of Brazil.

They say that there is no racism in Brazil (or there was not until recently, through no fault of theirs, but by the influence of harmful black social movements) and they say that they were never or would be racist. They say it is the blacks who are the real racists and that they project on the whites all their victimization, self-pity and hatred.

They say that racism is something that "has never been a problem" in Brazil, everything was going in great harmony, peace and order (read: undisputed order and that which "has worked for centuries"), so even that is also the fault… guess what?… of blacks and those who agree with them. They always pull out the classic argument that "here, there was and still is a lot of miscegenation, there was never any segregation between races" as if it were a perfect alibi to eliminate in its birthplace any and all possible signs of an act, speech or historical load of overt racist overtones.
Amazingly, there are Brazilian racists who even use the theory and politics of “whitening”, due to the gradual dilution of the "weaker races" (read blacks and Amerindians) and through increasingly intense miscegenation with Europeans, as being a complete proof of INEXISTENCE of racism in Brazil in the past. That arrogance comes to the point of them believing in their own lies!

Unlike the American or European racist, who longs for social "purity" that translates into complete racial homogeneity and genetic isolation, the Brazilian racist usually has no desire for blacks to not exist in Brazil, on the contrary, he considers them a fundamental part of the mechanism that makes Brazilian society work. As long as, of course, they know their place well, and are satisfied with the roles they have always had and, in the vast majority, continue to have in Brazilian society. They should continue being tolerant, humorous and without protest of any kind in the face of jokes and insults that are inspired by their physical traits and not complain much. After all, complaining, accusing and being indignant is the thing of "black racists" and their politically correct allies under external influence. Because, you see, black Brazilians obviously, according to them, must be incapable of thinking for themselves until Americans arrive and tell them what to think.

The problem of the Brazilian racist is not with the Negro existing in the same society with him and living side by side with him. On the contrary, he loves having blacks around to serve him, entertain him, make that delicious food, satisfy him sexually and so on. What he dislikes is the "uppity Negro", the one who "does not know his proper place" and who has a very strong and distinct identity and self-esteem, which gives him enough pride not to take offense home and to openly say what he doesn't like and why he demands not to be treated this way or that.
In this case, the Brazilian racist will say that the Negro is creating problems that in fact do not exist, is making false and bitchy accusations and that he is being prejudiced and hateful himself.

Brazilian racism is less violent and explicit, but much more cunning and calculating."
A brain is a terrible thing to wash!
