His name is Phil.
Born in TN, son of a country boy, who was the son of another country boy. All down the line.
Phil had a twin brother. They wrestled around like country boys do.
Phil was raised the country way. Southern tradition. Discipline. Football.
He played football and baseball in school.
One day Phil grew up and started working.
Phil brought with him his country upbringing everywhere he went.
He knew that the Southern way was the right way.
Phil never cared to know about other states outside of the South.
He sure never cared to know about other countries outside of America.
Why would he?
He had grown up believing that the Southern way was the right way and his family's tradition was most important.
So Phil got married and started a family.
Phil lives all his life in TN, never wanting to live anywhere else.
One day Phil's life will be over.
And that will be the story of Phil.

Just like everyone before him in his line
He was born, lived and died on the estate
And everything was just fine
He married the girl next door
Even though after a few years he thought he deserved more
But he always kept it to himself, who would sympathise
'You got it good lad' they would advise
He wondered if that was really true
When others were telling them the people on the boats and immigrants were making them blue
He went along with it, why take ownership for how things are
Doing such a thing wouldn't get him very far
He knew how it was to be be one of the crabs in the well
Though he was dying inside, he was staying in his comfort zone until the final bell

And that was always going to be his fate
