Contrarian,

It's ironic you are posting about black women acting so rudely, and you post like you do. You say you were raised with a lot of verbal abuse. You should consider that it may have warped your interactions with other human beings and how you can change the way you behave. Or I could just hold you to a lower standard.

I said they were selling those nasal devices, and that it might work for a small percentage of the population. I know that sleep apnea is primarily related to the throat. That's why I said if it worked, it would probably be for a small percentage of the population.
Dude, you have got to be the dumbest guy on this forum. If there is any standard shifting that needs to take place, it should be me relegating you to the category of those not worth engaging in discussion.
Please do. You behave in a very obnoxious manner. I am secure in my intellect and education. And I tire of your middleschoolish insults. You can resume the conversation when you learn to behave in a less childish and censorious manner.

This from the idiot who wants every man to marry so as to not deprive themselves of sex with the same, lame woman or life, of being forced to submit to a wives "social calendar," and of having to work things out with wives they no longer want.

If I look bad to a cuckold like you, then I am doing everything RIGHT!

I don't understand what you two are arguing about. It sounds like there is past baggage between you two. You should try to put it behind you. lol

Anyway, it's true what CE said. After doing some research and asking the specialist that visited my home to rent me a CPAP machine, I found out that those nasal gadgets are only for those with LIGHT SNORING problems, not for those with serious sleep apnea problems. Yes sleep apnea involves blockages in the throat area during sleep, which are caused by fatty tissue in the throat area from being overweight usually. That's why the air from CPAP machines works and is vital to keeping the throat passage way clear and open for breathing.

Update:

The last few weeks I've been using a CPAP device, which we rented here in Taiwan from a CPAP company. A specialist came over and did the settings for me and explained to me how to use it. At first I could only use it for a few hours, because in the middle of the night I would subconsciously remove the mask because it was kind of uncomfortable. So I only got a few hours of proper use per night with it. Then the following week he gave me another mask that was lighter and more comfortable, with just a nose piece rather than mask. This time it was a lot more comfortable and I am able to use it all night without taking it off, most of the time that is. Sometimes I still remove it in the middle of the night or early morning.

However, it's a big bulky machine. To buy it would cost 60,000 NT which is about 2,000 USD. That's quite expensive. In the US you can get it for $800 or less. So I'm gonna try to have it shipped to me from the US. I did some research and found out that CE's recommendation of the Resmed Air Mini is best if you want a portable easy to carry device that's good quality, because it's the smallest CPAP machine in the world that is good quality. Another good alternative is the Philips Dreamstation Go, which is a little bigger but better because it has a humidifier, portable battery, and can be used with any hose or mask, whereas the Resmed Air Mini can only be used with masks and hoses of its own brand, which are more expensive too.

Here is a review on YouTube comparing both machines.

Another review and comparison of both.

However, the experts don't recommend you use Resmed Air Mini as your everyday CPAP machine, only as a temporary travel one, because it doesn't have a humidifier and the little disc it uses to replace the humidifier isn't good for long term use. But they do recommend the Philips Dreamstation Go for everyday use if you want to, because it has a good humidifier that can be used long term daily. This video explains why.

Anyway I looked online and on YouTube, and apparently the cheapest place to buy these travel CPAP machines is on this website:

https://www.cheapcpapsupplies.com/cpap-machines/travel

This guy I saw on YouTube who recommends it and makes videos about using CPAP machines, said if you buy CPAP machines and supplies from the site above, you can get 15 percent off if you use his coupon code "LEFTY16" in the checkout cart. So if anyone here is interested, check that out and use his coupon code to get a discount.

He also runs a forum that gives free CPAP advice, if any of you are interested, at:

Update:

Some bad news. The specialist renting us the CPAP machine said that if I tried to order a CPAP device from the US and ship it to Taiwan, the Taiwan customs will likely disallow it and return it to the sender. Apparently, there are strict laws here against importing medical devices from abroad. So I'm not sure if there's any way around that. I'll have to do some research and ask the CPAP ordering sites if they know of a way around that. Either that, or ask someone I know in the US to bring it to Asia for me next time they come, because CPAP machines are allowed to be carried on airplanes by passengers.

Anybody have any suggestions about how to get around this?

Aren't there any CPAP devices in Taiwan?

Glad to see you addressing this with a CPAP. You may very well see your blood pressure go way down and you might be able to stop taking the blood pressure meds altogether. You'll also have more energy and you'll see excess fat begin to come off your body. It is like a new lease on life.

If I were you, I would contact the company and determine of one could be purchased in a neighboring country. If so, travel there and hand carry it back.

One thing about the Airmini, the full mask does not require a humidifier at all because it self-humidifies. But the other nose breathing types have disposable, humidifying filters you can use.

@Winston: have you investigated "mewing" (search "mewing apnea" on YouTube for more videos): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pV5EVt6VG8E

Yes there are. As I mentioned above, they cost about $2000, more than twice what they cost in the US. I guess this must be a rich person's disease, because a poor person could not afford that and I guess poor people don't usually have sleep apnea either. lol. In Philippines it also cost around $2000 too. I guess you have to get them in America or Europe to avoid paying so much. If you see the links above, you can get the travel CPAP for 800 dollars. I've also seen some on Ebay for 400 dollars too.

Yes I do notice my weight going down. I've lost about 3 kilos the past two months. But that could also be because Taiwan has a clean sterile environment and I'm eating healthy meals here. My acid reflux is also much better here and down to very little now. I guess I was right that the Philippines SE Asian weather is really bad for me, not only do I hate heat and humidity, but it's super polluted and filthy as well. Everyone reports bad health problems in the Philippines, both locals and expats.

Btw, why does good sleep help you lose weight? Is it because good sleep allows your metabolism to work better so that it burns fat at night while you're asleep?

As far as I know, all neighboring countries in Asia also sell CPAP for 2000 dollars. The markup seems very high.

Yes but the experts in the videos above don't recommend the Resmed AirMini as a machine you should use everyday. They prefer using the Philips Dreamstation Go for everyday use instead, which is also a travel CPAP but a little bigger. See the video I posted above about it.

What is "mewing"? Is it adjusting your jaw so that your tongue doesn't go back into your throat at night? There are devices to do that, but the problem is that when you are overweight the fat in your neck also constricts, resulting in less throat space. That's why most people with sleep apnea are overweight or obese.
