Professor Steve Keen says we are headed to the worst Financial Crisis in 500 years. MIT did a study in which they concluded that when the dollar collapses at least 500 million to a billion people will die from starvation and rebellions. And after that a few billion would die from a series of plagues.

American Debt

1.National Deficit of $17 trillion dollars
2.Unfunded liabilities ($238 trillion dollars) in the form of Social Security, Medicare etc.
3.Derivatives debt estimated at between $1 quadrillion to $1.5 trillion dollars.

That many people are not going to die.

Many people will die once the collapse occurs but saying 500 million to billions will die?

That's stretching it a bit.

Thanks for the fear-porn - just what I needed on the first day of 2014 - THE FACT NONE OF THIS HAS HAPPENED OR WILL EVER HAPPEN DOESN'T MATTER. Let's just ignore reality like bitchy American women do in their inflated self esteem.

The devil's greatest trick is to convince people he doesn't exist. TPTB's greatest trick is to convince people the collapse will be this one-off, instantaneous, worldwide-orchestrated and massively disruptive event. It won't. The American decline, indeed the decline of most advanced nations is in full swing and has been so for the past decade or so. While it doesn't really matter to extend your ear for "the Big One" that will truly never happen, it makes sense to read the writings on the wall, letter by letter, and look at the picture of our social, economical and (geo)political disintegration into chaotic fragments, without a direction and without a central power to rely on and trust. Divide et impera.

It's happening mate, and to your surprise, it's got next to nothing to do with those bitchy American women and their inflated self-esteem.

The continued printing of fiat currency ALWAYS results in the destruction of that particular currency.

The whole world is printing their fiat currency and none of it is backed by gold or silver.

The purchasing power of fiat currency always falls when it's printed.

China is experiencing really bad inflation right now.

Europe is a bad shape, America is falling badly and Japan is trying to print their currency into oblivion.

But 500 million people dying???

I doubt it.

I agree 500 million dying from starvation sounds like a lot. However, that many could easily die from the nuclear war that will follow the crash.

Are their any countries that plan to backing their currency with gold or silver?

I 100% believe that millions of people would die, just in the USA alone, if there were a significant economic collapse. However, this could happen within a couple of months time and I think at least 10%-$20% of that number would commit suicide. Just think how many people within this country would be forced to go cold turkey on their anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, and other medications? With the intense stress, financial ruin, death, destruction and despair will come suicide. The ones that don't commit suicide will be looking to survive by whatever means possible. Those who have means will kill in order to keep them. Those that do not have means will kill in order to take them. I don't think the Elites have to destroy much of the land with bombs as all they really have to do is pull the plug and let people self-destruct and kill each other. It's really not difficult or even that complex...

Not at the moment.

The problem is that the U.S. dollar is the resolve currency of the world.

So when Nixon took the U.S. dollar off the gold standard in 1971, he convinced the rest of the world to do so.

That's why it's a high probability that if the U.S. crashes or goes completely bankrupt, the rest of the world will follow suit.

Since I've been born prices have continued to go up.

I went to college in the early 2000s and prices were half of what they are now.

To prepare, China is buying a lot of commodities such as gold.

Other countries are as well.

Will it happen for certain?

Maybe it will or maybe it won't but by the evidence at hand, a horrible financial disaster is on the horizon sometime within 10-12 years, maybe sooner.

It could be a hyperinflation or a depression.

Gotta prepare just in case.

I hope it doesn't happen but with the Federal Reserve printing 125 billion dollars a month and Japan printing like crazy, it's looking bad.

Within the next few years, an economic crash will occur in the U.S., I don't know for sure if the whole world will collapse but it will get worse in the U.S. in the next few years.

America is heading towards bankruptcy. At least 3 American cities have gone bankrupt as far as I know.

There are more stable countries than the United States at the moment but eventually, the financial crisis will reach every country.

Many suicides will definitely occur once things get much worse.

If you look at the world right now, it's pretty bad.

People in America are committing suicide because they're losing their homes and being forced to live on the streets.

There are thousands of riots around the world due to bad economic conditions.

Cities are going bankrupt.

Once the dust clears after the economic collapse and the military restores order, I believe that the world will be a unified one world currency which will be a prelude to the New World Order.

Then things will be good economically again.

Economic collapses have to happen because it purifies us from toxic currency.

Our U.S. dollar is debt.

Gaddaffi was trying to create a unified Africa currency backed by the resources of Africa but the western governments were not about to have that.

If Gaddaffi would have succeeded, Africa would have been the economic powerhouse of the world and the rest of the world would have went bankrupt.

As far as I know, Libya uses fiat currency as we speak.

And the Libyan dinar is experiencing inflation.

The whole world runs off of worthless paper money.

I laughed out loud for that one.

Look at the great depression. It wasn't really all that bad.

Yes, millions did die, but civilization did not end (too bad).

Its a good idea to prepare in any case, but don't expect some grand crisis.
