It's more to retain access than prevent devaluation. It prevents being helpless under the cash withdrawal limits.

Well, inflation is eating at everyone's savings, 401k plans and disposable income.

"Saving money" is an obselete idea.

The only thing worth saving are gold and silver coins. Fiat currency is meant to be spent or invested. People who believe that saving fiat is saving money are ignorant and brainwashed. Most Americans are brainwashed into believing dollars are money.

I'm afraid that it's not just Americans who are brainwashed into saving their currency.

95 percent of the world thinks that saving fiat currency is a great idea.
