Where should I go?
I'm going to graduate college next summer and I have some money in the bank. I want to go somewhere, but I have no idea. Could be anywhere in the world. Might be good to find a job to keep it going too. In China I volunteered to teach English. It was only three times for an hour each to a class of middle schoolers. Not so good as a reference, but I do have pictures. So I may get TEFL degree. Not entirely sure what I'm looking for now. It'd be nice in like five years to be seriously dating, trying to find a wife, etc. But I'd want to have some money then, some real prospects or something. And I'd have to establish myself somewhere of course, if I want to settle down. But that's five years, I'll marry a younger girl. For now I have no idea. Open to any suggestions for where to go and what to do.

Sorry but not understanding you.
(1) Have you picked out the school for next summer? If so what country is it in?
(2) Are you then looking for a country in which to do the academic year September 2014 to May 2015?
(3) What country do you dream about eventually finding a bride in?
(4) Do you have any hobbies you like to indulge besides school and bride-hunting?

"Well actually, she's not REALLY my daughter. But she does like to call me Daddy... at certain moments..."
What's up ABCdavid? How's it going in Shanghai? I'll be there sometime in September, as part of my training program, so maybe we should meet-up there one day? After my training is over, I'm going to Dongguan to start teaching again.
If you liked China, why not stay there? Also, as someone who is half-Chinese, maybe choose a country like Taiwan or Malaysia as your next destination? Thailand is pretty good, too.
I'm not sure Korea or Japan would be a good 'fit' for you, as those countries are pretty xenophobic--and someone who isn't Korea or Japanese, might struggle in those places. But that's not to say I haven't met expats who were Black, half-White or even other Asian ethnicities that have enjoyed those countries. So who knows? Asia a big place with many different countries and cultures, so I suggest that you start taking some trips to various Asian countries to check them out, beforehand, before making the move.

Ah, I was just in China two months. Went to Beijing for a few days, but mostly stayed in Shanghai studying language. I can hold a conversation now. Also went to some more countryside areas just outside Shanghai. China, from what I've seen, is pretty great. Now I'm in America for my last year of college. When I graduate I have some money to travel again, but I might also want to find a job overseas (TEFL?) to stay abroad longer.
I don't know where I'd want to go though. I definitely have the travel bug, but there are just so many cool places in the world. I thought of Malaysia to continue studying Chinese too, but I can also visit different parts of China that I haven't been to. I'm a History major in college, so it's cool just reading about different places. I'm taking a class on Central Asia now and it's really interesting. Who knows, maybe I go to Uzbekistan? Or anywhere in Europe. It's wide open for now.
