Shit. Well, he is doing the logical thing by vowing to only return to Asia for pumping n' dumping. I'm really starting to suspect that most Asians don't ever really like or especially love foreigners. We're just money bags with big targets painted on our backs. We're just farang, kanos, laowei...and they're out for blood. It's like I observed before: no way out, forever stuck between a rock and hard place. If you are white, most Asians probably see you and other non-Asians as an easy meal ticket. That's just the way how it is as most Asians are racist to the core and don't feel any affection for whites. Amongst Asian acquaintances whom I speak to, they think that all white and other non-Asian women are whores and deserve to be degraded while Asian women are the only ones who are seen as marriage material. This is similar thinking to what Muslims have about non-Muslim Europeans, that (non-Muslim) European women are nothing more than whores.

Age old wisdom: If it's too good to be true, then it most likely is. I prefer females closer to my age or older. I've seen too many relationships and marriages like these crash to the ground even though I've yet to be in a serious relationship myself. I'm not saying that women who date much older men are 100% bad or necessarily have motives, but an age difference of more than 10 years (when the female is under 20) makes me question things.

That's a kind of crazy way to meet someone, especially since neither side probably uses family to really interview the potential partner and their family, and the lack of social network to check out the other's reputation. Then there is the language gap. It's like assuming that a man or woman from another country is going to make a good spouse and/or assuming you can size someone up as a spouse by meeting them and talking through an interpreter.

But I can also understand if the men are 30+ aren't too physically attractive, are in a type of job where they can't find a wife in Sinagpore (taxi driver, delivery man). I saw 'How to Murder Your Wife' (which sounds worse than it is) as a child and it instilled an idea in me that marrying a foreign stranger could be a desirable experience. Maybe there's a Chinese movie that these guys saw when they were children. The women's motivation seems to be the marry a foreigner, move abroad. It may have to do with security and wealth. That doesn't mean they are insincere gold diggers. They may be whole-heartedly dedicated to being good wives. Living with the mother-in-law and being the household servant is quite a price to pay.

Be that as it may, I don't think this sort of thing should be illegal. It's not prostitution. They are talking about marriage. Some of these Asian cultures have a long history of both arranged marriages and matchmakers. I don't see why paying a matchmaker should be a problem. I was surprised to learn that prostitution is even legal in Singapore, so I don't see why they should illegalize this. I do see why Vietnam might want to clamp down if other countries export enough of their women to effect population growth or the good looks of their people. If the Chinese in China, Singapore and Taiwan and the Koreans in Korea come marry up a lot of their women, the poor Vietnamese farmers may find it hard to find wives, or they may be left with the less attractive ones. I hear the French are shorter because Napoleon put the tall ones on the front line to intimidate the enemy. If enough pretty Vietnamese were married off overseas, maybe the Vietnamese could become less attractive, but I don't know if good looks get bread out like height can. Two not so attractive parents could have attractive offspring and vice versa. The one girl in one video who got married off had a pretty face.

A guy I know is married to a Vietnamese woman and he saw the video news article about the girl who got married off by a matchmaker on that page. He had an idea for a business. Who has difficulty finding husbands in the US? Black American women. The Chinese through a combination of abortion and the one child policy have a deficit of brides. So they want to marry up the Vietnamese women who seem compatible for looks and culture. That leaves too many grooms in Vietnam. So he said he could start a business matching American black women with Vietnamese men. I hope he was joking. Vietnamese men would probably be too short and lack the 'swag' most American black women are looking for. It would be a tough sell on the other end, too.

this is an interesting idea. how much does it cost? Although since its singapore i guess you would have to bring htem back to Amerikka which could lead to disaster? Im not sure id marry a virgin without a test drive and really getting to know who they are especially one selling herself as a service (the agenda would be suspect)

No. Since you have strong online income, you should be able to get Singapore residency. Once you get it, Singapore law lets you import wife, school-age kids, PLUS A CONCUBINE. In your case I guess you could just go with the concubine, leave out the wife and kids.

I dont want to live in singapore its very expensive and I wouldn't be happy there it looks like a miserable place that is very far from my family. my online income is iffy at best although good. I need to retire asap.

Sorry I havent fully understood the situation. Thought you were a lonely, high earning keyboard warrior, content to live in Asia.

Saigon could offer VN chicks plus cheaper than Singapore. But being close to USA loved ones adds another issue.

Dont understand about retire soon. If you mean income drop expected, that again is a major constraint.
