I am not going to tell anyone to NOT get involved with a Filipina who has a kid or three. I know several guys with gfs or wives with kids from previous unions. And since I am personally not interested in virgins, well a little usage is not a bad thing.

However, the truth is there are so many available and attractive Filipinas that do not have kids that you have to think long and hard to involve yourself with one with children.

Unlike in the West, where there are plenty of 30+ women who are unmarried and have no kids, in PI almost by definition a woman over 30 has a husband and/or kids lurking somewhere. So you almost have to go younger (even that's far from a guarantee). Of course going younger is not a bad thing :)

That window may be closing. From what I have been hearing the teen pregnancy rate has been spiking up. The single parent rate is already within a margin of error difference with the US rate. 38% to 40%

Yep you're right. Teen pregnancy is now reported at 53 out of 1000 between the ages of 15-19. But the chances of a 30+ woman having a child and/or husband are much higher than 53 out of 1000.

But I do agree, since my gf tells me that nearly all of her friends (20s) have young kids or are pregnant, and none are married.

Winston, would you do it again get seriously involved and have a child with a Filipina?
You mean if I could do it over again? Not sure. I have mixed feelings about it.

Or do you mean find another Filipina to have another child with? Oh no way. Of course not. Filipinas are only good for sex and short term relationships, unless she is a quality girl who has a little more than 0.00 cash. lol But those types are hard to get.

I just heard Southern Baptist theologian Albert Moeller say the American rate was 34.9 per 1000 in the same 15 to 19 age group.

Winston, I tend to agree with you. In addition to your case, my friends have all had bad results with long term relationships with Filipinas. I’m NOT saying Filipina are bad, but I’m saying their culture is too different than a Westerners.

I’ve seen relationships that start off good and turn out horrible very quickly. I think the Filipina loves the man, but she loves her Filipino family more. Filipinas can NOT stay on any budget. They and their family will try to suck every dime out of you. They will suck every dime out of you until you are either broke or dead!

A Long Distance relationship with a Filipina is a 95% you and they give 5%. Just try to get them to do the simplest thing for you. Impossible! I’m not sure what percentage the relationship is when there together, but I’d say 70% you and 30% them or even more you. Any thoughts Winston?

I believe the real problem is income disparity, because, as a Westerner, I have been told that it's really hard to forge genuine relationships with people who are impoverished.

That's really the root of it and many SE Asian countries are strict classist cultures. The rich marry the rich. Middle the middle. Poor the poor. It hasn't changed for hundreds of years because real social mobility is rare. A (western) middle class person marrying a poor person in the developing world just makes two poor people. That's the reality of it. The sweet spot are the middle class girls from regular backgrounds in these countries who require work to get into relationships with but less trouble than it is in the west.
