A rare sight, what is possible if air quality improvement efforts succeed (any decade now):

Nice pics, Momopi. Thanks!

Do you ever see skies like this in China?

I suspect not. But I am eager to hear from you on this.

Guangzhou's air was bad, but I thought Wuhan's air was worse.

I am more worried about what's in food. The Maggi noodle scandal is the tip of the iceberg. My last employer's (a rival of Nestle) had different food standards for certain countries and this current scandal is going to grow way beyond Indian noodles.

The problem in China is that people don't care about other people. Where I lived in Guangzhou, young kids would just chuck rubbish in the street, and their parents would dump all kinds of crap in the river.

Best thing to do is avoid rice - it loves sucking up heavy metals.

Two of my Chinese ex's have now had moms who contracted cancer in China. Coincidence? Probably not.
