On the one hand, a man of 70 years old going out while at leisure is something we should all be so lucky to have.

On the other hand, an obviously high IQ person who trust his life to such a ramshackle operation is beyond me. It is easy to Monday morning quarterback, but I would have taken one look at the operation and said, "No thanks."

Where was the rescue boat or vessel?

Where was the safety briefing to the customer?

Where was the second-person verification of the rigging?

These things are predictable when safety protocals are lacking.

He owns a company reportedly worth $250m, and now they claim he unfastened the harness himself. Yeah, right!

is there any police investigation?

I have to agree with Johnnylaw here. Why would a 70 years old man marry a local Thai woman? Just have fun and enjoy life.
