If you are an enlightened Western person, then by moving to the Philippines you will keep the best of your culture and acquire the best of the Philippines culture.
You are still very responsible, knowledgeable , good with money and punctual. But now, you are very friendly to strangers, smiling, tolerant, a lover of family and neighborly parties, a happy joker and a karaoke singer. You are a very pleasant person to be around.

If you are an unenlightened Western expat, you will keep the worst of your culture and acquire the worst of the host culture.

You are still a bigoted, intolerant individualist, hostile and mean to strangers and not smiling. But now, you also gossip all day, borrow money and don't pay back and act on impulse.
