The Story of Pinoycchio
(Based on the Story of Pinocchio with a Happier Abroad Twist)

In an alternate reality with a fairytale twist, an old Italian man by the name Pepe DeNino lived in the Philippines and was like Geppetto. He was a woodcarver and made furniture, wood carvings, totems, and occasionally puppets. He was childless, lived alone after outliving his wife, and one day, he carved a puppet to be much like a realistic boy. Instead of a fairy like in the typical Italian version of Pinocchio, a Diwata appeared in this story of Pinoycchio, and turned the puppet alive.

P.D. was overjoyed to have Pinoycchio, much like a son, and began to teach him right and wrong. He would also go to school and was the talk of the town. But he wasn't considered exactly human. He couldn't eat like the other children or sleep like the other children, and if he lied, his nose would grow.

One day, there was an unexpected disaster, and a huge wave washed ashore, and Pinoycchio was taken out to sea, drifting like a piece of wood, until an Indonesian Fishing Boat, stalking a whale like Captain Ahab was stalking Moby Dick, except these Indonesians wanted to capture it for the Japanese or for the Chinese. They saw the puppet and brought it onboard. Pinoycchio had his eyes closed but opened them and shouted "Ciao!" and everyone onboard screamed and shouted "Tuhan tolong kami!" (Indonesian meaning "God help us!"). They thought the puppet was possessed.

However, they eventually realized Pinoycchio was washed out to sea by a great wave. So, they decided to put him to work, as a performer, abandoning their whale hunt, and eventually, they went on America's Got Talent.

P.D. saw his lost boy on television and traveled to America to reunite with his boy Pinoycchio during the Finals. Pinoycchio and his Indonesian friends win America's Got Talent and Pinoycchio reunites with P.D.

The Diwata is able to transform Pinoycchio into a real boy after all his lessons learned on his journey, and that's how P.D., an old Italian man, received a son.

The news headlines read: The Miracle of Pinoycchio.

P.D. returned with Pinoycchio to the Philippines where they became a really famous celebrity family, Pinoycchio aged with time and eventually found himself a wife, and the old Italian man lived much longer than he otherwise would have because the Diwata transformed his puppet into real boy.

The End!
