I can barely survive on twice that just for my beer money.

Turning 30 this year motivated Helena Liu to start saving for her own home, so she looked for ways to cut her costs.
A college lecturer in Henan province, Liu already lives rent-free in campus housing, but she was spending as much as $100 a month on food.
After three years of shopping sprees, a challenge to spend money on what I really need …
A steamed bun for breakfast: I heated a bun that I bought two days ago. It was very tasty, with pickled Chinese mustard stuffing. I’m loving it so, so much! Every time I have it, I feel I’ve found my comfort food: It tastes just like home.
Lunch time: I had lunch on campus. Yikes! It was so disgusting that even my rice bowl was screaming in shame. The leftover was proof of how awful it was. Even the chopsticks agreed that those food should be banned from entering human stomach. 12 yuan
Dinner in the evening: Went to Yuan’s Skewers with a friend. (Yummy! Liked it!)
