Amazing drop in rail shipments. Looks like a real "second bottom" for US and therefore China too.

Back in 2008 when I was laid off, I was told that the unemployment insurance would pay something like 1.5 to 2 years with Federal Extension. Even in 2002 if you were laid off you could collect up to 99 weeks of unemployment (almost 2 years). This year the maximum length has been reduced to 73 weeks (about 1.5 years).

There are those who want a job but have trouble finding one, and then there are those who are on "unemployment vacation". I heard they don't even send checks anymore, they just send you an ATM card and deposit the money directly into the account.

Hopefully more people will take "unemployment vacation". That way more people who want jobs can have them and if they lose them they will at least qualify for unemployment insurance.
