yes i noticed that too. the only good shows are on cable, HBO, Showtime, that kind of thing. the sitcom crap they show on the normal channels is so stupid it makes me want to vomit. i watched game of thrones, i'm not really into the old-style kind of thing. i'll check out newsroom though.zboy1 wrote:All the good American shows are only shown on Cable TV; I recommend Game of Thrones, the Newsroom and Boardwalk Empire on HBO, and Mad Men and Walking Dead (in addition to Breaking Bad) on AMC.

I watch shows from the 70's and 80's. You can download entire TV series from torrent or watch them on MeTV. There are TV stations that play only older TV shows.
The only annoying thing about them is that the commercials in them are geared toward senior citizens, who make up probably the majority of the audience. lol
I particularly like old westerns like The Big Valley, and sci-fi action shows from the 70's like The Six Million Dollar Man and The Incredible Hulk. They have very good characters that are kind inside that you can connect with.
In contrast, TV characters today are hollow and have nothing to connect with.
I started watching Breaking Bad and found it funny and interesting. But after the first season it started degenerating and becoming kind of sick. lol

there's a new show called Under the Dome, and Stephen King is the executive producer, and it's not bad actually. Only 2 episodes so far, so it's pretty new. i also found a terminator tv series, sarah conner chronicles, but it only had 2 seasons unfortunately. it's actually not that great but if you're a fan of the terminator movies, you'll probably enjoy it.
The audience reaction to the pilot was very negative, and many Stephen King fans were panning it as completely different from the book. I guess I'll have to pass on watching the show in the future. Another show I have to recommend to people is the "Wire," which is in my opinion, the greatest inner-city police drama in the history of television. You'll have to get it on DVD, though, because HBO no longer has the show on television. And I agree with Greetercrb: I was also really pissed off when ABC cancelled "Pan Am" and no longer watch any program on that channel (except for the NBA finals).Joelwilliams89 wrote:there's a new show called Under the Dome, and Stephen King is the executive producer, and it's not bad actually. Oh, btw, AMC has been doing a marathon showing of "The Walking Dead" the past few days and it's been fantastic; I especially like the fact that Glenn (the Asian character on the show) has a hot White chick as his girlfriend, which is so rare to see on American television these days...It's a great show and I recommend it to people who like other AMC programs like "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad."
