This is what Peruvians think of Gringo Westerners.

I suppose it's funny to native Spanish speakers that don't know English. I'm sure dumb English speaking foreigners always say that around them when they don't understand what's going on around them.

Do Peruvians hate Gringos, dislike Gringos or are they just entertained by them?

From what I hear they dislike but more or less depending on the part of the country you're in as well as socio/economic level.

@Yick would be the person to know for sure, but when I lived there decades ago, the girls could not get enough of Gringos. There was blonde worship and white worship galore.

Most Latin countries have some measure of the "Yanqui Go Home" sentiment, but Peru has a reputation that is generally hospitable to Gringos.

You called?

I think most Latinos have a very superficial geniality towards gringos but they will rip you off as soon as they look at you (and of course, they talk shit behind your back but it doesn't translate to them treating you bad). I have citizenship but I am a gringo as well and I was f***ing gouged on prices all the time so I would say - superficially friendly but when dealing with merchants you'll get gouged on the price more than anywhere outside of Vietnam or an African country.

Like CE has said - there's anti-American sentiment wherever you go but you can keep things nice and light by not being political or bringing it up. (American travelers tend to bring up politics with locals more than anyone else when conversing with strangers I have found...)
