I skipped ahead on this a bit. It looks like 'to catch a predator', but the guy pooped in a diaper. Did he actually do something illegal in regard to little kids in this case, or did he just go there to poop in a diaper? Maybe they should call it 'to catch a poopator'.

If he was going there to poop and not molest some kid (and I don't know because I don't want to watch it) what could they charge him with? Illegal dumping?

I just watched a little of it. I didn't see the solicitation of sex with a minor, but couldn't bring my self to keep watching after they started talking about the dump in the diaper.

On the one hand, it's good if they catch and deter creeps. On the other, I took a law class in high school, and these shows seem like entrapment. If the police tempt someone to commit a crime, then the courts can throw it out. But with the penalties and shame involved, and probably the lack of resources of these people, I think a lot of these people just plead out. If they know they were trying to do this, they probably want it to go away, even if they end up on a sex offender's registry. They don't want to be dragging this out in the legal system, talking about how they tried to hook up with a kid. I'd imagine the guy who got caught with a turd in his diaper on TV or YouTube is even more eager for this issue to just go away.

Also, catching people for intending to do something... supposedly... is fishy. I saw one clip where a guy said he came to verify the age of the girl because they were on an app that was only for those who were 18+, so he didn't believe she was 15. That sounds like a pretty strong argument given the fuzzy legal basis for these types of sting operations.

But there is some value to shaming these people, especially if they want to go after the little kids, and letting everyone know where they live.

They could try charging him with 'illegal dumping' and see if he just accepts the charge and pleads out.
