I remember meeting this guy a few times.

He had lived in Vietnam for years and spoke the language fluently. It looks like he ended up marrying a local.

A good blog to check out if you're interested in Vietnam:
http://singlemansparadise.com/

I recently revisited Vietnam. Wow, it seems like there are a lot more expats (mostly white guys) compared to even just five years ago. A lot of them are English teachers. I think they go to Vietnam to have a better dating life and/or to escape from their economic problems back home. Not all the locals like it though- some, especially the men, I think feel some resentment. I definitely noticed some unfriendly looks directed at me. A British guy told me his Vietnamese girlfriend sometimes gets called a "con đỉ" (whore) when they are out together in public. Once you learn some swear words you'll hear Vietnamese (especially the men) using them all the time. One very common phrase is "đụ má" which literally means "f*ck your mother." There are a lot of scams. There are really only two taxi companies that you can trust (Mailinh and Vinasun). The biggest danger is probably the traffic. I knew some teachers who were involved in some pretty serious accidents when I lived there previously. One was in a coma for a few weeks. While he was lying in the street in an unconscious state after the accident he was robbed of everything he had in his pockets- not a very uncommon occurrence from what I've heard. I was involved in an accident which turned out not to be that serious fortunately. It's probably best to make sure you have good health insurance if you live there long term.

I'm skeptical of that guy, not that it can't happen but he doesn't have a single original pic on the blog, but instead random porn gifs.
He also seems to be just pitching the Cupid sites.

It seems every place gets eventually ruined by an endless supply of thirsty western chumps. The clock is ticking.

Thinking about the imbalance, it would make sense the supply seems endless. If there are, being conservative, say, just 50 million obese/nuts women in the west, that means there can be in time up to 50 million unmatched chumps potentially roaming the world. Of course I just made that number up but even just a fraction of that would be a staggering number.
Problem is I think, when it comes to the effects on local and target locations, supply and demand is not really a linear phenomenon. I want to open a thread on this general concept.

Once an HA finds his country, and is determined to make his life there, he can potentially rise to a level that a chump can't even imagine.
Thank God for that, i hope you're right.

What would you like a picture of? A bowl of noodles? A pretty young lady in her panties? The rooster crowing outside my window every morning? 8)

Btw everyone,
A friend of mine in Vietnam now told me that there's a town called Da Nang there which is a hidden paradise and gem. He says it's got everything - friendly people, nice atmosphere and vibe, beautiful places, postive energy, low cost living, nice beaches and parks, etc. It's the kind of place where once you're there, you don't feel like leaving because it's just too nice and perfect and makes you feel content and fulfilled. Have any of you been there? I haven't but if you go to Vietnam, be sure to check it out. Just wanted to share an insider tip with you all. Again the town is called Da Nang and it's outside of Saigon.

^ Your friend is on point. Da Nang is a wonderful town, great atmosphere, and actually cheaper than both Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, provided you avoid too much time in the touristy places. Less traffic too.

Not only that, the food is incredible even by Vietnamese standards. Especially for vegans/vegetarians. It is THE BEST city I have ever been to in that regard. Better than Thailand. You will not have trouble at all finding vegetarian food and you will love the taste.

Just don't go to look for Vietnamese women. Foreign men are mostly invisible to local women.

Wow that sounds interesting. What's good about Da Nang that gives it a good vibe? Is it the friendly people and vibe and cheerfulness? Or the laid back atmosphere? Are there many foreigners there? Do expats live there?

Why are foreign men invisible to Vietnamese girls? A lot of guys say the girls there are approachable and talk to strangers. Are they cliquish like Chinese girls and act like they're in high school still and ignore everyone outside their clique, like the Vietnamese girls in America?

Vietnamese women are not that friendly from what I've seen.

Well all of Vietnam is a ghetto. I guess Da Nang is a "nice" ghetto? The presence of the beach helps. And just the fact that it doesn't have the crazy traffic of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Yes, there are lots of foreigners. It's a hub for digital nomads, many of them come over from Chiang Mai. Everyone discovers Chiang Mai first and Da Nang only later (including me).

Yes, in Da Nang at least, the girls are cliquish. It's what I expect from most Asian countries. The language barrier surely has something to do with it. However, what is different from many Asian countries is the conservative laws making the importing of sex dolls difficult! So neither a real girlfriend nor an artificial one can be easily obtained here.

Indeed Vietnamese women are not that friendly, HOWEVER...Vietnam is still the friendliest country in Asia thanks to the males. You can certainly make friends with the men of Vietnam. I guess giving up your dating life is just a price you pay.

Have you tried approaching them? If so, what happened? I heard that they will give you their number, but often flake out and not follow through. Very typical of modern girls.

Do Vietnamese like Asian American guys? So Philippines has the most approachable girls in SE Asia then? Or perhaps all of Asia?

But Thai girls are way better at sex though. Way more sensuous. They have a vibe that turns me on and makes me horny. Maybe it's their exoticism or novelty. Who knows. But they do seem more sensual and better at sex as though it's a refined art to them. They don't just do it like animals like Filipinos do. Of course Thai girls have bad apples too, and scammers and users, but the ones that are good, are VERY good.

What about P4P in Vietnam?
