Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
Re: Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
Of course China will never pay anything, this is only a propaganda action.
However not so few foreign companies are rather angry and disappointed with China and are looking now around to transfer some production lines or otherwise businesses to other countries.
Simply said, you cannot trust China, this country is not your friend.

Re: Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
If there is a second wave of the coronavirus later this year, would you rather be in the USA or abroad at the time of a possible second shutdown? Why?
Re: Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
@Light I don't think you can predict where you'll be least affected but I think the more sparsely populated the better. Not a big city in China. If you can't wait it out on a farm then it would make sense to be in a well off area because educated people are calmer and more prepared having the money and space to stock up on supplies for weeks in advance. If there are food shortages the people in low-income neighborhoods will be ready to rob you or worse for a sandwich so you do not want to be anywhere near a high-crime area in case there is panic.
Re: Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
I'm reading that there are meat shortages in various parts of America and other places. Is that true? It seems that I might be living in the right place as there is no sign of food shortages here.
Re: Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
Shortages in certain areas will cause higher prices everywhere. I'm not concerned yet because I know most Americans eat way too much meat and not even obesity will get them to reduce their meat consumption so I'm happy they will be forced to eat something else. I agree with Fschmidt they deserve to suffer at least a little. viewtopic.php?p=330991#p330991 But this is not a good sign and there could be trouble on the horizon if these kinds of shortages continue to other food and products we need.

Re: Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
Don't you hate how CNN keeps saying "Coronavirus has changed the world"? They keep repeating it over and over again as if it's the virus' fault, not the government. But the truth is: Coronavirus has not changed the world. It's the government REACTION to Coronavirus that has changed the world, not the virus itself. Stuff like the stupid lockdowns are what changed the world.
CNN is so f***ing stupid. They act like the people watching are all zombies with low IQ. Very insulting. They act as though they assume you have a hive mind and will believe everything they say, even if its' baloney, as if you have no critical thinking. They talk to you like a bad kindergarten teacher. At least Fox News has somewhat intelligent commentators and journalists. CNN are the stupidest and lowest IQ. It must be for low IQ viewers and assumes that of every viewer. Very insulting. They act like government dictatorship and no freedom is a good thing and you are supposed to agree otherwise there's something wrong with you. No thinking is allowed. Only obedience.

There’s evidence these ideas are sticking. One poll by YouGov and the Economist in March 2020 found 13% of Americans believed the Covid-19 crisis was a hoax, for example, while a whopping 49% believed the epidemic might be man-made. And while you might hope that greater brainpower or education would help us to tell fact from fiction, it is easy to find examples of many educated people falling for this false information.
Huh? So people with great brainpower believe everything the government says without question? lol. WTF? Sounds very Orwellian. So "critical thinking" means to reject all conspiracy theories regardless of the evidence and take on faith everything government and media says, no matter how many times in the past they've lied? Especially since they refuse to answer important questions about 9/11?We are bombarded with information all day, every day, and we therefore often rely on our intuition to decide whether something is accurate. As BBC Future has described in the past, purveyors of fake news can make their message feel “truthy” through a few simple tricks, which discourages us from applying our critical thinking skills – such as checking the veracity of its source. As the authors of one paper put it: “When thoughts flow smoothly, people nod along.”
How come Republicans are more against the lockdowns but Democrats are not? Interesting. I guess Democrats love everything government does.
Only up to a point. Surveys of the American public reveal that attitudes towards the same fatal virus in the same nation are strongly influenced by partisan voting patterns. Republican voters are generally less concerned than Democrats about Covid-19, and less likely to support public lockdown measures to prevent spread of the coronavirus, which at the time of publishing had infected over a million Americans and killed more than 69,000 people there.
It seems the BBC doesn't know the difference between "education" and "indoctrination" and doesn't believe in free speech either and only likes to present one side of the story, the pro-establishment side. Very stupid. These protests, which contradict health advice to reduce transmission rates of the virus, come at a time of widely circulated conspiracy theories about the virus, including that it is a hoax (believed by 13% of Americans polled), or that the virus was deliberately created in a Chinese weapons lab (a claim believed by as much as half the population), and that 5G wireless technology somehow spreads the virus. Such theories have been boosted and spread by a handful of prominent conservative politicians and far-right activists, including Republican Senator Tom Cotton. And research shows that even smart people can believe such conspiracy theories, if they’re couched in the right language.
“If you have the kind of hyper-partisanship we have in the United States, it’s like a dry forest and all it’ll take is one match to light it and cause a problem,” says Jay van Bavel, associate professor of psychology at New York University. “That’s what we’ve seen in the last few months in the US, where Trump didn’t take the virus seriously at first, and the right-wing media sphere – Fox News and talk radio – downplayed the threat of the pandemic for a long time to protect his electoral chances. So then you have the recipe for differences in beliefs.”
As polls have shown, as far back as February, Americans’ attitudes to Covid-19 risk are closely tied to voting behaviour, with Republicans showing much less concern about the outbreak.

Also, of those 69,000 deaths, supposedly only around 11,000 are said to have no other contributing factors. That is, only 11,000 didn't have comorbidities that they died of but were falsely attributed to this disease.
Not only is this most likely a hoax, I am starting to doubt the transmissibility of viruses in general and even the existence of pathogenic, life-threatening viruses period.
(For example, even if a man ate only frozen food and lived in a cabin by himself and never saw others for years, during the change of seasons, if he gets cold for long enough, he can still get sick, without having contact with other people's germs.)

How do you explain the Spanish Flu of 1918 then? Didn't it kill millions of people? How did they stop it from killing the whole world?Neo wrote: ↑May 6th, 2020, 3:16 pmEven if it were real, it doesn't mean that the world should be shut down. People don't shut down the world for a flu virus.

Btw, no hoax can continue if it's a 100 percent lie or fakery. It has to have some truth in it or else it wouldn't be convincing. Remember the best lies MIX truth and lies together so you can't tell the difference. That's the formula for effective lies. A 100 percent lie would not be convincing. So there has to be some truth in this stupid pandemic. Remember that quote from X-Files: "And a lie Mr. Mulder is most convincing when placed between two truths."

I'm still reading lots of material, and it will probably take years to come to a full understanding of it.Winston wrote: ↑May 6th, 2020, 3:45 pmHow do you explain the Spanish Flu of 1918 then? There are a few reasons why I do not believe it. Even according to the standards of virology, such as the Koch postulates or the Rivers' criteria, which specify that the pathogens must be isolated in certain ways, when you dig deep to see how the supposed isolation was done, it never fulfills either one of the above criteria.
And when it is said that a virus has been isolated, usually if you look closely, it hasn't been isolated at all. It's almost like the word has been redefined to mean the opposite.
Also, to diagnose someone as positive, instead of taking a culture for the actual virus, an antibody test is done, which means basically nothing and is proof of nothing.
Just like photos of the earth from space, the pictures of viruses are CGI or artistic renderings. Completely bogus.
Another thing, one way to "prove" that an organism is pathogenic, is to take "infected" cells from one being, then inject it into another being of the same species. Whether or not there is a real pathogen there, the results are not likely to be good, simply because beings were not made to have things from other beings injected into them. Instead things are eaten, inhaled or transmitted through the skin, etc. Injections bypass the body's normal mechanisms. So that is almost doomed from the start. (E.G. See leaky gut syndrome and undigested protein entering through the intestines to cause health problems.)
Even then though, when injected into the second host, the same disease doesn't always occur. Meaning it isn't proof that the organism causes a disease.
There are some more reasons, but how to put them into words without writing a book?
Unfortunately I can't accept your theory of lies and truth. Two buildings demolished with pre-made video showing CGI planes on TV have deceived many, with almost no truth to it.

Re: Coronavirus from Wuhan, China
By the way, HIV/AIDS and Ebola do not exist.
Dr Andrew Kaufman uses an analogy. Just because fire fighters are present at almost all fires, it doesn't mean that firefighters cause fires. It could be that firefighters are there to put an end to the fires.
Likewise it seems plausible that "viruses", if they truly exist, are there to sweep up the mess from whatever toxicity there is. It may be correlation without causation.
In 1918 how would they know? Nobody can see viruses without an electron microscope which wasn't invented until the early 1930s and not in use until practically the 1940s. A virus cannot be seen without an electron microscope, yet somehow they were known before they could not be identified.

I don't think anyone has the slightest clue about the "Spanish Flu." This is from the first paragraph on Wikipedia:
Number of dead is unknown in the 20th Century:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu
This partly reminds me of the numerous revisions of the number of people holocausted at Auschwitz. And it seems among the first to be infected were in the US Military, which is a red flag in itself. There have been banking scandals for hundreds of years. After reading that there was a "Russian Flu" just a couple of decades earlier, the thought occurs to me, that this type of pandemic may be rolled out every generation or so.

Number of dead is unknown in the 20th Century:
Origins, unknown:it infected 500 million people – about a third of the world's population at the time.[2] The death toll is estimated to have been anywhere from 17 million to 50 million, and possibly as high as 100 million
...The major UK troop staging and hospital camp in Étaples in France has been theorized by virologist John Oxford as being at the center of the Spanish flu.
...Some have suggested that the epidemic originated in the United States. Historian Alfred W. Crosby stated in 2003 that the flu originated in Kansas
...This has led to speculation that the 1918 flu pandemic originated in China,[30][29][31][32] as the lower rates of flu mortality may be explained by the Chinese population's previously acquired immunity to the flu virus.
To me that seems like very peculiar speculation. The war may also have increased the lethality of the virus.
