Alternatives to google search engine?

Post by odbo »

Google stores everything you've ever searched for. It's part of big brother compiling a database on you so they know you better than you know yourself.

Startpage is a popular alternative but what do you think of this feature? Does anyone use proxy's on a daily basis?

Russia is one of the last remaining countries where google isn't the leading search engine. Yandex.ru is. They say it's because google doesn't support the complex grammar. I'm sure Russians that use Google feel they're rebelling against the mainstream and Kremlin censorship and getting a taste of freedom. While English speaking conspiracy buffs use alternatives like Yandex as Google censors or manipulates search results for certain topics like chemtrails. :P What a funny world we live in. http://www.yandex.com/

Similar to startpage, an alternative.

Definitely ain't the leading search engine here in China. Doesn't even work half the time. I think Baidu rules here. Also wasn't too popular in Korea.

I don't care about what information they store on me. I am not searching for anything bad. I care about something that works! I really like their translation software, and would love to find another that has all the same features.
