I've JUST brought the happier abroad DOT ORG domain!

Post by StanfordGuy »

Just finished wireframing the design for parent company of my international culture ventures. Now the designer will skin it. I've even brought the happier abroad DOT ORG domain to add to my network. I 'm going to re-use my Culture W software for use on the new platform. With all the project framing out of the way, I'll eventually get around to hiring a full time content team. I estimate we''ll need to put out about 100 articles across the network to generate to over 500,000 visitors per month. Revenue should be over a $20,000 per month by 2021 with buy out offers in the $2-5 million range.

Thanks for letting us know of your intent in advance to cybersquat my domain name.

I'm gonna report you to your name host and ICANN for cybersquatting, which is illegal and unethical. I run a real business here that hosts two branded dating sites and romance tours. My domain name is in the process of being trademarked too. So you can't just piggyback my brand name and try to impersonate me. You can't just steal my domain whenver you feel like it! Who the f**k do you think you are? God? lol. Geez you are delusional.

Man I treat you with respect and tolerance around here, and you try to declare war on me? Who do you think you are? You must be a sociopath who doesn't even consider what you do to others or whether it's ethical or not.

WARNING:

Listen PAG. I know your real name and have your real pictures in my NSFW section. If you cause my site any harm or lost traffic or you try to steal my name or traffic or get us mixed up, I'm gonna take ACTION. I'm gonna expose you by putting up webpages with your real name and photos on it, and also file a page about you on RipoffReport.com too with your full name and pics. I'm also gonna have this guy here list your photo and name in his Hall of Shame webpage too for "reverse domain name hijacking" which is illegal and unethical.

http://hallofshame.com/

I'm serious man. Don't threaten my business interests or image or web traffic, or I'll take some serious action. This is not a joke. I've tolerated you over what I should have already, and been nice and respectful to you too. If this is how you repay my kindness, then you definite deserve the full extent of my wrath, you friggin prick and dickface! I mean it. I don't care if you are joking here or not. This is crossing the line, and I'm gonna take action against you if you put up a site with my brand and trademark on it. Consider this as a serious warning. You are crossing the line this time.

I'm filing a dispute over the domain name you bought.

You are in danger of cybersquatting my name.

https://danashultz.com/2010/07/19/how-t ... rsquatter/
(iv) By using the domain name, the Registrant has intentionally attempted to attract, for commercial gain, Internet users to his web site or other on-line location, by creating a likelihood of confusion with the Complainant’s mark as to the source, sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement of the web site or location or of a product or service on the web site or location.
https://smallbusiness.chron.com/should- ... -4032.html
Advantages
The primary advantage of using a trademarked domain name is protection. If someone attempts to register a similar domain to steal your customers, you have legal recourse. This trademark will protect you in the case of misspellings or variations on the top level domain (.com, .org, .net). A trademark will guard against the confusion that can occur when a misleading name causes consumers to assume that your company somehow supports or sponsors it. For example, taking your bicycle to Trek’s Repair may be misleading if you believe that Trek somehow sponsors the business.

Governmental Protection
Congress passed the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act in November 1999 to help companies protect themselves by gaining control over domains that are similar to their name or trademark. In order to receive this protection, however, the company must prove that the domain name in question was registered in bad faith. When there is any doubt, the first commercial use of a trademark owns it in the case of conflict.
https://drexel.edu/close/news/announcem ... 0affected/
Generally speaking, cybersquatting cases are won in favor of the company or brand if the person who registered the domain or handle, registered with bad intent. A person cannot deliberately use the a company or brand’s trademarks with the purpose of misleading the public and profiting off of trademark’s goodwill.
Btw, did you know that .org domain names are supposed to be NON-PROFIT you asshole? It is unethical to make money or "tons of money" as you claim, from websites with .org domain names. Do you even care about ethics you friggin sociopath?! Same with CultureWhiz.org. It's supposed to be non-profit, yet you boast that you make $400 a week from it? Are you a scumbag with no conscience?

Also, are you stupid? Even if HappierAbroad.org became successful and got lots of traffic, a lot of that traffic would come to my site because most people type .com not .org. So you'd lose a lot of traffic for that reason alone. Dumb idea there too.

Winston doesn't have a brand name / mark, idiot. A trade mark is a type of intellectual property consisting of a recognizable sign , design or expression that identifies products or services of a particular source from those of others. Winston 's logo is basic text with a generic earth clipart. Who's going to copy it? Get real. My logo is completely different and unique.

You don't have a distinctive trademark name to make that claim, Bozo. Even some prominent figures, including rock star Bruce Springsteen and actor Kevin Spacey, have not been able to gain control of their names on the internet. Moreover, you were blacklisted from Google. You don't seem to understand that. It's like you DO NOT EXIST AT ALL. That is why other sites can take your content without repercussion. There IS NOTHING TO piggyback on or impersonate. My version of Happier would be completely different from what you're doing here with lame misogyne / racist rants, porn ads and conspiracy theories. It would be a real business and I wouldn't want it to be in any way associated with this place.

Although businesses commonly use both .com and .org extensions, .com is almost exclusively used by for-profit businesses. .Org extensions, on the other hand, are more appropriate for Non-profit businesses and organizations. A non-profit organization JUST means your profits are going back into the organization and not share holders. However, that doesn't stop owner from using the organization like a credit card lol. You're so simple, man.

Moreover, some websites that provide the public with free information and resources but profit via ads being displayed on their site also use a .org domain extension. .Org extensions are also sometimes used by open source online networks. Educational websites whose sole purpose is to provide free education to people also regularly use .org extensions to indicate their information is available free of charge. This is often even the case with websites that don’t receive any donations at all. As a result, sites using a .org extension are much more trusted ($$$) than they would be if another domain name extension was used.

Look brah, you're in completely over your head here. However, I'll sell you the domain for a small fee. You're blacklisted from Google and this domain is as good as dead. So you're going to start over. But keep in mind, your days of slandering people and profiting from hate are over. Do it again on new domain and Google will throw your ass right back in the sandbox 8)

I'm not talking about the logo dummy. I'm talking about the name "Happier Abroad". I'm applying now for a trademark with the US Patent Office. If approved, then I will have the legal right to file a dispute for trademark violation. I'm trademarking the term "Happier Abroad", not the logo. The term "Happier Abroad" is already used on my cobranded dating sites like these:

http://women.happierabroad.com
http://dating.happierabroad.com

I've also been around since 2007. So I have a reputation and track record. You don't.

Well we will see. I'm applying for a trademark now with the US trademark office. If approved, then the term "Happier Abroad" will be a legal trademark. I'm talking about the domain name, not the logo.

My site is not technically blacklisted from Google and not on any official blacklists. Just devalued. My blog articles still come up with decent ranking on Google, perhaps because it uses permalinks and structured data, since it was made with Blogger which Google owns. So it's possible that the data structure is the issue here, as well as the permalink, rather than some soft censorship.

Yes you would be piggybacking off me because even if my site is devalued in Google, I am still known by many thousands of people around the world and in expat and global dating circles. So yes I still do have an image and reputation in online communities and certain circles. That constitutes a public image. There are many websites out there that mention me and link back to this site too.

You want to sell me the domain for how much? Hundreds of dollars? Thousands? If you are as well off as you claim, then why do you need the money? And why do you pay nothing in the jobs and internships listed on your sites, yet you want top notch people to apply? LOL. Isn't that unrealistic?

If my domain is no good then why did you buy it? Just for fun? For kicks? You are weird man.

If you want to start a similar site to Happier Abroad, why not use a different name and domain, like Happy Abroad or Better Abroad or Better Life Abroad or Escape America or Escape Abroad or something? Don't use my name and confuse us ok? That's what I don't want. Do you understand? I'm not trying to interfere with your plans or success. I just don't want you to steal my name and confuse everyone about who is who. Understand?

I've been nice to you and treated you with respect, so don't treat me like some enemy you can step on any time you want please.

Anyway, regardless of whether I can win a dispute or not with the domain name, either way, if you cause me or this site damage in any way, I can still fight back by listing your real full name and photos on sites like www.hallofshame.com and www.ripoffreport.com, as well as in my blog which uses permalinks and still has decent ranking in Google. Try Googling "dream connections scam" or "dream connections exposed" and you will see what I mean. My blog articles about dream connections come up at the top as you can see. So yes my blog still ranks ok in Google. So I can use it to expose someone if they do something wrong to me, like steal my domain name, etc.

Btw if you Google "Mary Jane Ballon" you will see my forum thread on the first page of Google too. She is a Filipina who scammed me years ago. I put up that page about her to expose her. Since her name is rare, I was able to rank high for it, even in this forum. See below. So yes it still is possible to use this domain to expose people who do me wrong.

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=15089

Hope you keep that in mind. I don't mean to start a war with you, but if you harm my site or traffic, I'll have to retaliate by using online warfare tactics like I describe above. I hope it doesn't come to that and that you have the common sense to respect me and not cross the line. I've been nice and respectful to you so far. So I only ask that you do the same. I'm not looking to be involved in an online war again like I have in the past, so I hope to avoid something ugly like that. Such online wars basically drag everyone down into the mud.

Anyway, if you have a HA concept you wanna build, please use a different domain or name or title so it doesn't get confused with mine. That's all I'm saying. Hope you understand.

Easy way around this for him would be keeping the domain and just changing the logo and company name to not reference the URL. Would easily sidestep the trademark issue, as the domain does not have to match the name of the business

Umm yeah, generally, things like names, titles, slogans or short phrases aren't considered to be original enough for copyright protection. For example, the symbol “+” is likely not subject to copyright, but a painting full of shapes and colors arranged in a unique pattern is likely protected under copyright.

Copyright doesn’t generally protect facts or ideas, but it may protect the original words or images that express a fact or idea. This means that you may be able to express the same idea or fact as another author, as long as you don’t copy that author’s way of expressing that idea or fact. For example, a playwright may not be able to copyright the idea of a man waking up to repeat the same day over and over again, but the script for a play or movie expressing that idea could be subject to copyright.

Moreover, there is no such thing as an “international copyright” that will automatically protect a work throughout the world. Protection against unauthorized use in a particular country depends on the national laws of that country.

Blah, this stuff doesn't interest me. This is why I skipped out of Law School. I am more interested in making money and growing my platforms and using them for general intelligence R&D. I bought this domain for my entertainment, and to see what the reaction would be on this hate site. But I'm going to say this a thousand times; if you have some health issues, business isn't for you ... wrong attention span, wrong emotional reactions, wrong timing, wrong wake-up times in the morning, wrong greed factor, and a super-wrong sense of reality (what kind of work it takes to get something done). In this situation, a healthy person would have thought of collaboration or offered something that would have been mutually beneficial. This tells me what I already know, everything that has to do with this place is very toxic and really not worth getting involved it. Google will continue dealing with undesirable sites :D

Yeah but you see, the problem is, what if someone Googles "happier abroad" and finds PAG's site and goes to his and not mine? And he may think "oh I guess Winston no longer owns Happier Abroad. It must be owned by someone else now. Nevermind then." I lose traffic if that happens. In effect, PAG steals traffic from me if that happens, and they may not come back too if they think HA is now owned by someone else. Do you see what I mean? How would you feel if you were in my position?

Btw PAG. I didn't mean to overreact earlier. But think about it. I've been nice and respectful to you and given you a chance to be a regular member of this forum. In return, you try to steal my domain name and traffic (see the example above that I gave to HouseMD about that). Isn't that wicked and evil? How would you feel if you were me? Think about it. Do you ever consider other people's feelings? Are you a sociopath? It's just not cool to do that. Think about it for a minute.

Btw PAG, I do not post content that is racist and misogynist. Where do you get that? None of my articles contain hateful comments about women or minorities. I only criticize cultures, constructively. The stuff on the forum that could be construed as racist or misogynistic comes from other posters like Cornfed. Not from me. So don't mix up their posts with mine. My official article pages and ebook pages and blog posts don't contain the hate speech that you say.

So how much do you wanna sell that .org domain name to me for? What is "a small price to you"? Since you love to artificially inflate numbers, a small price is gonna be a big number to you right? lol
