As I might of mentioned before I have a daily view from inside the U.S. educational system at the high school level. The 17-18yr old kids up here in Montana could be classified as basically caucasion and generally innocent when compared to inner city kids in this country.
The dilema that the Career Center has is that it tends to attract the slacker students from within Billings because they can basically avoid their main high schools and be immersed in a more relaxed and diverse campus. Some of the teachers at the CC basically run study halls when they are supposed to be teaching a core subject. They will continue to run their curriculum like a "sloth" and let kids run over them with little behavior or academic responsibility.
Again.... tenure and unions is why the average 12th grader in the U.S. is falling further and further behind their international competition. I and a collegue have discussed starting a poster campaign in the schools where pictures of foreign classroms are depicted with messages talking about thier competition and how these foreign students will have thier jobs in the near future!
Tenure is such B.S.!!
