Great information Renata!

I believe that every woman should have a personal beauty routine. We need it to not only look our best but to feel our best as well. It becomes more difficult with children in the house as they always seem to know the minute we're considering taking advantage of those few moments of quiet time.

We ladies are used to multitasking and I've always relaxed and done some quiet meditation while soaking in a nice warm tub. It rejuvenates both mind and body. I keep mine simple with epsom salt and dried lavender and sometimes even just some orange peel floating in the water for a little aroma therapy lift.

Men also love the smell of vanilla, so a few drops of pure vanilla extract in your bath water right before you get out can be an inexpensive way to add some allure.

When it comes to using perfumes remember that less is more. If people can smell you coming 3 minutes before you enter the room, you've over done it. It's one of those things where a little dab will do ya.

I don't go to salons.

Here's what I do that saves a LOT of money and is far better quality than most shop-bought products:

Makeup cleanser: olive oil. i get organic extra virgin, much cheaper than any makeup cleanser.

Exfoliator: brown sugar or sea salt, depending on your skin. Bicarbonate of soda is a good one for acne or blocked pores.

Moisturiser: organic raw coconut oil. It's expensive but usually comes in massive tubs that last months and months.

Face masks: so many recipes out there but I just use raw organic honey from the jar.

Toner: apple cider vinegar, diluted

:)

DIY NATURAL HAIR CARE REMEDIES FROM YOUR KITCHEN

Moisturizing Avocado Hair Mask

1 ripe avocado
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 egg yolk

This mask is rich in natural oils and will help tame, strengthen, and moisturize your hair.
Combine ingredients in a blender until smooth. Apply all over your hair and let it sit for at least 20 minutes before rinsing.

Hydrating Honey and Olive Oil Treatment

1/2 cup honey
1/4 olive oil

Mix ingredients and warm slightly for 20 seconds. Apply all over your hair and let it sit for at least 20 minutes before rinsing.

Coconut Oil Deep Conditioner

2 tablespoons of unrefined coconut oil
1 teaspoon of argan oil
2-4 drops of essential oil of your choice (try sweet orange or lavender)

Combine all ingredients in a jar and mix together. Make sure your hair is damp before you begin this treatment. Start at roots and comb through to the ends of hair. Leave on 30-60 minutes or over night. Wash 1-2 times before styling hair. Repeat weekly.

Sea Salt Texturizing Spray

1 tablespoon fine sea salt
1 1/2 cups water

This will give your hair texture and create volume and lift. Dissolve salt in water and store in a container or spray bottle. Apply to hair when needed and style accordingly.

Aloe Vera Detangler Spray

1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon glycerin
1/2 cup aloe vera gel
2-4 drops grapefruit essential oil (or lavender, rosemary, chamomile, ylang ylang)

Take a clean spray bottle and mix ingredients by shaking. Spray on hair as needed. Store in cabinet for next use.

All Natural, no chemicals & convenient :P

This is one of the things I completely lack... a beauty "routine". I suppose it's never too late to start? heh I've never worn makeup, and the most I ever do is tweeze my eyebrows, but natural methods to beauty have always interested me, so thanks for these great secrets! I'll try to remember to share how it all goes... or if my head/face bursts into flames or something crazy :geek: haha (joking of course)

The point of the DIY beauty tips are really to stop using over the counter products because they are packed with chemicals that are really bad. I should have named this thread Natural DIY Beauty

Tumeric is yellow & it stains clothes so be careful using it ... it does so many things you can even drink it ... it evens the complexion & skin tone most of all, it removes spots, acne marks & can get rid of tan lines, when applied topically. Frequent use can lighten your skin, that why it's great to remove marks & spots that appeared. Nature's eraser ;)

Wow... then it could be used to remove darkness under eyes? That's a problem for me

I guess I could stop bothering you and just search these things myself :D
