She has some good info & advice, but she's overthinking, especially the part with the firends of convenience bit ... Travelling is an adventure, & it great to always be in tourist mode ... that's the time when you will naturally do things differently than you would do them at home.
As well I don't want to seem shallow or anything but this is a fact & it's somthing I've noticed with African girls abroad. I met a bunch of them in Greece, Georgia & Turkey ... They keep their natural hair, whereas in the UK they don't. I assume in the US it's the same. I know the stress black girls go though when they mess with their hair; straightening & weaves etc ... One night for a sleepover back home, all the black girls had to wrap & tie their hair before bed. The natural ones were fine. When we asked what was all that for they said their hair would break off if the didn't tie it down, we were like
I wonder if African girls feel less judged or embarassed about their natural locks outside of the Anglosphere. I never asked any of them but I wanted to.
