Honestly, I am happy for you. You are now smarter and experienced that there is no free ride. Finding a good girl takes TIME and MONEY as everything in this world. I dated so many girls since I moved back to Ukraine, but there are only a few I would marry. Why? Precisely for the same reasons: I don't want a girl who likes me for my money or use me. By the way, NO GIRL is using me! It's actually another way around: I take girls to dinners, girls that I consider DECENT after I spent long time with them. But I DO SPEAK RUSSIAN and I understand local culture, I can point 90% of scammers from the start. Imagine that, I setup my behavior in the way that "I prefer independent women" and that I come from "American culture, where people split their bills 50/50 when they go on the date". So Ukrainian girls already have that idea that I am making an exception by paying a bill for them
Often they offer to pay for themselves. NO GIRL in my lifetime had used me like you describe! Maybe because I never offered that I will be paying for everything? Maybe because I was smart enough and girls valued me for my brains? Maybe because I selected proper girls for dating?
And are you an angel? You wrote that you broke up with a girl since you had a few more options? Wow. You are going to a country that still has a few old-school values left, such as "if you love her - marry her" (not always, but it is a social norm) and you are trying to play American style games? Who are you? Mr. Perfect? Celebrity? Ukraine is not some "wonderland" and it's not meant to be. People there are poor, but TV installs that "glamour is everything" into their heads. So many girls are empty-headed wanna be glamorous bitches that want to have a sugar daddy. Guess where did this sugar-daddy influence come from? Yes, good-old US of A. Once again, Americans believe they own the world and every girl abroad should blow them just because they are American

1. KNOW the CULTURE. Understand the language, live in the country for a long time. This is not shopping, if you are looking for a wife in a foreign country, it does take effort.
2. EVALUATE YOURSELF PROPERLY. Honestly, I am not the best looking dude out there, I DO have a belly. So I don't shoot for the stars! I also can differentiate "hot" looking girl (who could be an extreme gold-digger) from "very attractive decent girl". Do you understand a difference between "hot" and "extremely attractive"?
3. Americans like "dirty" and "slutty", it could be an outcome from conservatism installed into brains of Americans since early age due to culture of Puritanism! So every little American girl is dreaming about getting a tattoo and being dirty. American guys are the same way - you were tied by some social norms, laws, insecurities. Now you come to a foreign country and expect to WIN over your fears! Really? You have to figure it out yourself, understand who you are inside, dig deeper into your soul. LEARN how to differentiate "Dirty Hot" girls from "Clean Hot" girls, again, do you know the difference? You mentioned that you never dated a girl that smokes, how about education? The way she dresses up? Do you understand that some Ukrainian girls dress slutty and some dress sexy? American dude will not understand the difference though since NO GIRLS dress either way in USA, American girls dress ugly or dirty, but NOT SEXY.
4. ADD hysterical behavior of young girls makes its way into Ukraine, I see it. You have to understand that nowadays 20'something girls are very inadequate compared to what they were 10 years ago, when social norms of old USSR were still in place. Many girls in Ukraine are whores and I am not ashamed to say that, I know it is true, although it makes me sad. But what else do you expect in a country filled with good looking girls and low supply of men?
5. WHAT KIND OF MAN do Ukrainian WOMEN WANT? Did you ever figure it out? We all know what we want, but did anyone ask THEM? Do you understand that Ukrainian girls think that American guy will provide the same amount of cultural conversation, inspiration and tradition? When in reality average American guy has NO culture, NO tradition and NO values besides getting p***y for cheap?
Just f***ing face the truth! Ukraine is not yet Westernized, thank God for that. There are still women that look for a guy with an inner world. If you want cheap p***y dolls, then you will get scammed in Ukraine! Then Asia is your best bet. I hope I provided decent insider views here since there are very few guys on this forum digging deeper, everyone just looks at money and sex. Mistrust of American culture ruins your happiness and you can't escape it. As one old Russian saying says "You can move a girl into the city, but you will never remove a village out of her". Same goes with Americans, everywhere you go you bring that American jadedness, mistrust and greed with you.
