None of this is very surprising.

There is another trend that is currently happening, its a vastly bigger deal.
Most most police department are down by 30% or more in numbers.
You can prove this to yourself in a simple way, go to any police department parking lot where they park the police cars, you will see its always full. They have all those cars and no one to drive them.

Most have had to do with far skinner budgets and pay cuts, not a big secret really.
The police have a new focus, to size assets. Believe this is happening right now.
To me this is kind of a third world thing. That is the police being so focused on getting money and using enforcing the law as a means of financing.

Don't be carrying any large amounts of cash, if the the police catch you with a lot of cash, they will take it. They will bring the dog around and the dog will piss on your tire and that will be proof drugs are somehow involved. Good luck in getting your money back.

Welcome to the new third world California :)
