You can get the same effect by dropping 1 piece of a bread crumb into a tank filled with 1000s of ants. It is so ridiculous to risk your life just to save $20 on that new toaster.

If Americans were actually financially(and mentally) prosperous, they wouldn't need deals like these. But their wealth has been a complete illusion for least 50 years.

All Those Black Friday Sales should be made into a Full Length Comedy Movie.

Exactly, when I really need something I just buy it on the spot, time is too valuable to be wasted on hunting for $10 off. Chances are the hours you're wasting looking at all those deals or going shopping provide you with a net loss. Maybe I'm crazy for considering time as something that has a value not something that's free.

I dunno. I bought a small tv for $200 a while back, but saw an ad for Black Friday that had a tv twice the size at the same price. Took me a second to see the Ad. I know though, the question then becomes, what do you need a tv for? Go read a book! Go travel! Materialism is a bad thing and I am a minimalist. I am also, however, staunchly capitalist.

The irony is that most of these lemmings are poor and working class people who are most vulnerable to marketing ploys and spending sprees.

In bad economic times when most of these people have foreclosed on mortgages or lost their jobs, they are still compelled to spend like crazy at holiday time. Keep in mind that this spending is largely with money they do not have since they use credit cards and "Christmas Loans."
