Nicaragua and The Philippines being considered more feminist does seem to be correct (never been to The Philippines, so can't comment on it other than from what I hear).

Nicaragua is horribly cheap, 15:1 exchange rate, etc.

On an episode of House Hunters: International there was a White couple (isn't it always?) who rented a place for $350 a month. They shared a kitchen with the other tennant. That seemed off putting at first but they seemed cool with it. I forgot what town it was, but it was off the tourist trail. ... rnational/
