Check out this presentation on global consciousness by mathematics professor Peter Russell, who spent time studying spirituality in India. It's absolutely brilliant and contains arguments and analogies I've never heard before!
It's awe inspiring and life changing. There are very few videos I would describe as life changing, and this is one of them!
It's about how the Earth is a living conscious organism and how we're a part of it - the Gaia theory so to speak. And how we're all interconnected in ways we never thought of before. Those aren't just kooky words for environmentalists or hippies either. He presents compelling scientific arguments from biology, sociology, history and evolution. And he compares things like single celled bacteria to societal structures, drawing fascinating parallels and analogies in ways I never thought of. His reasoning is very sound.
It will make you rethink what life is all about and give you a different perspective, perhaps one of global consciousness and interconnectedness. Or it may just make you realize why it doesn't pay to be selfish

Either way, it's a must see, thought provoking and affects your perspective to see everything in the bigger picture. And best of all, it's FREE to view on youtube. Here is part 1 of 4:

You will find the rest of the parts in the right column under related videos. In part 3, he draws an interesting analogy between describing a "hole" and one's "higher self" in that they can't be described, only understood from a frame of reference to other things. Very fascinating and brilliant.
So take the time to view it. You won't regret it.
