Here are some items to carry with you:
If the link expires, google " portable hotel security lock", and " portable hotel security alarm".
They are small and easy to pack.
Also, you can buy masking tape and then, get a document pouch
Use the tape to affix your important docs to the bottom side of some big desk or table or some other heavy furniture.
As usual, spread all your items in several places.
