Chinese girls are certainly beautiful, but it seems to me they might be hard to meet due to cultural difference.
I have spent time in Europe and find I get along well there since I understand the culture.
How do Westerners do in China these days? Is it hard finding a job (besides English teaching)? How hard is it with language issues and cultural differences?
How easy is it to meet a local girl and understand her? What about the gender imbalance?
I think each city or province is very hit-or-miss in this regard. They are very beautiful, but the culture is inherently geared away from Chinese girls dating foreigners. Add in the belief that China is going to become the next superpower or overtake the U.S., and there's a pride running deeper that makes many Chinese girls want to date only Chinese guys.
It's very easy to get numbers in China, although what you really want to do is get QQ numbers and chat with girls on WeChat, which is wildly popular.
Meeting girls can be damn near impossible because the culture of China is constant schooling or working. So there is very little free time in China for Chinese, and slightly more free time for foreigners teaching English there. Speaking of which, getting an EFL job here is still really easy, especially in the north (but this is where the worse girls are; it always seems to happen that way.) Things got more difficult last year, but it is still really easy, at least if you are white and a native English speaker.
You'll never assimilate here, so the closest thing you can do is learn the language. The writing system is horrible and is basically hieroglyphics that survived into the 21st century. But speaking it doesn't seem that bad, and the caveman grammar and speech won't be difficult. The gender imbalance is not a problem in cities, but in the villages and countryside. I also find the culture very uncivilized and frustrating now, so I'm not compatible with it at all. Living in Beijing would probably be fine for a foreigner, since there would be Western good and such. Third tier cities...if you're not fully ready to have an "experience," then you probably won't like it.

Don't worry about the gender imbalance - it doesn't have much relevance to foreigners.
It isn't easy to live in China - I only managed 4 months there. The weather is harsh in just about all of China. I lived in Guangzhou so it was rarely cold, but the humidity was hard to take. You also have to cope with poor quality food, pollution and massive overcrowding. Oh, and the language difference as well.
There's a reason most foreigners go to Thailand - it's just so much easier to live there.
Still, if you can hack it, then yes Chinese women are very hot. I'd routinely see 100 decent looking women just when I went to the supermarket and back.
