Air conditioner water leakage and ant infestation problem

Post by Winston »

Hi all,
For the past few weeks, the air conditioner in my room has been leaking water down the wall and onto the floor. What is causing that? And what can I do about it? I don't know how to fix them. The thing is still under warranty but the store said that they do not cover maintenance and that I'd have to go to a service center. (only the expensive models include maintenance, not the cheap ones)

Also, the ants problem in my room is getting worse. Our mattress is on the floor, and so the ants crawling around get on it easily. Right now, they keep crawling onto the mattress and every minute, as I type this, I have to brush them off with my hand. It's getting annoying.

Is there a simple natural way to get rid of ants without pesticides? I don't want to spray Raid onto the floor. My dad did leave us some chalk designed to block out ants, but how can I mark the whole floor? I read that if you mix water and vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on the floor, the ants will go away. I tried that (without a spray bottle) but it didn't work. I could sweep them away with a broom, but then more would come back within minutes! Any other suggestions?

Fighting ants is futile! They number in the infinity!

you take some sugar and mix it with borax.

let the ants feed on the sugar laced with borax and they will die.

if you're living in the Philippines, I don't know where to get borax.

I'm going to guess that you have a window air conditioner. Check the back (outside) to see if it's draining properly. It's possible that it has a blocked drain (internal or external), a leak, or some other problem. I think most AC units have a drain tube of some kind for condensation. Get it fixed soon, you don't want mold growing on your wall.

You should elevate your bed on a bed frame. Mop your floor clean and seal cracks along the wall where ants enter. Ants also avoid certain spices, such as cinnamon. You can buy a tin of cinnamon and sprinkle it along the wall.
