We get people on here complaining about Aussie women, just like US and British women. I didn't stay there long enough to get a feel for what the people are like. Customer-service oriented folks in hotels and restaurants are nice, but they are paid to be. I've gotten to know some Aussies at church in Indonesia.

One thing I did like in Australia after being in Indonesia for a year or so, at that time, when my employer sent me there for a training, as the food. My employer gave us a box of food every day. Indonesians have a high tolerance for eating their food cold. I'd heat mine up on a plate in the microwave, and there wasn't even a line to do so. But I was eating rice every day, and not the best Indonesian food for lunch. We had a maid, so sometimes I'd get Asian or western for dinner, so while I was there, I'd take the kids out for pizza, burgers or other western food on the weekend.

And when I got to Australia, western food sounded good. I bought fish and chips at a liquor store because everything shut down by 9 when I got there. They had a fish and chips place in there. The fish was slightly fishy, but it was okay. They wrapped it in paper.

Then I eat whatever pastries they offered for breakfast at the conference. I don't think I got breakfast at the hotel (unless I could have but didn't.) Lunch was included for the conference. So they had stuff on the salad bar you'd rarely see in Jakarta-- piles of olives and cheese. And they served Indian food and western food on the buffet. I ate at a kebab place a couple of times for dinner, had 'chicken pama' (chicken parmesian) at an Italian restaurant, one of the best burgers I've ever had at a pub, and bangers and mash at another pub.

The burger was delicious marinated ground Angus beef on a really good bun, with onion balsamic vinegar sauce, a pickled beet (which makes it an Australian burger), giant onion rings, and some other topics. It was huge. I had them hold the egg. It was hard enough to eat as it was.

It looked kind of like the US with different store names and people driving on the wrong side of the road. Perth has sky scrapers, but up above the river, right in front of it, the town has almost no one walking around after business hours.

I saw the river from a park kind of on the side of the city. I'd never seen a river that blue. It's a pretty city, some say like a smaller Sydney for looks. I didn't know about the black swans till I left. I didn't see any when I walked out of the hotel down by the water.

When I went there, the government trying to legally falsely-called 'gay marriage' was an issue on the news.
We don't give a shit about the food. or the skyscrapers in Perth. We want to know how are the people there. How are the women there and how are the people in general there.
The coffee in Austrailia is quite good. Better than the crap from Starbucks. Starbucks never managed to set foothold in Austrailia because the local brew has superior quality.

I'm running out of money here in Vietnam ...
I am just back from Thailand and now in Japan again. We spent a good time of about 4 weeks in our second home in Pattaya/Jomtien - and I have to say, that life for a Western foreigner is not so cheap in Asian countries. Nice to get away from winter season and to spend some time in a country where it is almost always warm and sunny.

To run out of money in a poorly developed country is nothing new to me, I know plenty of such stories.

You can live in places in Thailand or Vietnam or Philippines etc. like a king, but in general you must bring your own money with you.

And be aware that you will always spend more money in such countries than ordinary local people - you can live as the typical 'Cheap Charly' only for a limited time.

Long term visa are not so easy to get and sometimes costly, good jobs with working permits are rare, medical fees in case of an emergency can financially ruin you, to get on an airplane for a long distance flight to go home or to continue to somewhere else is not cheap either, not all simple food locals are eating will be delicious for you, but imports are very expensive etc. etc...

And finally after living here and there for years the old age is coming...and without rather high savings or retirement allowances what can you do?

I often wrote about it. It is not easy to earn a reasonable and stable income in those countries in Asia, especially if you are not fluent with the local language and have no relationship with a local supportive family to assist you.

Think about it....

Customer service people-- hotel staff, waiters, etc. were nice to me. Other than that, I've known some nice laid-back Australians and one who was kind of uptight. I haven't been around Aussies much really, other than that trip, for decades. Except I did meet an old friend and his family the last time I was in Jakarta. My kids went over to their house. He married a Balinese woman. We had lived in the same boarding house and got married around the same time.

Food and sights are good if you've been in cheap undeveloped Asia, so you get to mix it up a bit and eat something familiar and see a neat city. Singapore is neat and well-ordered, but still Asia, not really cheap Asia, though.

I did see an Aborigine in Australia. He was sitting in a parking lot, yelling acting like he was going to hit a woman who left, as he spoke to her in some other language. He made a whistling noise, and didn't look at me. I figured was calling me to beg while I was at the laundromat next to his parking lot. A white Aussie told me later that they consider it rude to look at people they don't know or something like that. I did feel a bit of white man guilt that us white people had come and taken over their hunting grounds and he has to sit in the city and beg a living off of white folks, even though my ancestors weren't the ones who did it, just distant cousins of the ones who took over the lands that had been the territory of Native Americans across the world.

Think about it....
I can only base myself on about 10 days of life in Bangkok. I don't know how Pattaya compares. I think Bangkok is becoming a bit of a joke. Everything is priced just a wee bit lower than Singapore. I can imagine street food stalls at the weekend market as still cheap(er), but food and accommodation in central Bangkok is not cheap at all.

Two plates of curry chicken or noodles at a mall, average restaurant that definitely doesn't look high-end, is 1200-1500 Baht, a good 30% more than the equivalent in a Filipino restaurant of the same caliber.

There's in-your-face luxury everywhere, Sukhumvit Road alone has large malls with Gucci and Prada outlets 2 or 3 kilometers apart.

I enquired for a non-life-saving surgery at one of the better hospitals, they quoted me almost $20K! I asked at the best private clinic in Manila, same surgery is $5K, 25% of Bangkok, and I had almost an hour conversation with the Head of Department. In the Bangkok clinic, the Doc couldn't wait to get to the next patient after 10 minutes of conversation.

I got the impression that BKK is fast becoming, if it's not already, a playground for the rich, a heaven for the wealthy Asians and the crypto kids. Coupled with stricter rules on tourists wanting to stay beyond their first visa, I get the idea that all the Thai government wants is for tourists to enter, spend as much as they can and GTFO.

10 days in Bangkok and you think you know everything about it? LOL

Bangkok is my go to place to fulfill all my fetish fantasies. I've spent a lot of money in Bangkok on girls. I can go to a go go bar at that place near Silom and have a girl dance and put her big Thai ass all over my face. With the curtain around me for privacy.

Thai girls have the best combination of being wild, extraverted, open minded, and good looking.

I used to go to this one place and had some BDSM fantasy with 2 girls. I enjoyed it so much I'll remember it the rest of my life.

The only place that can top my sexual fantasy experiences is Tokyo. They film porn there. I went to this one place that most people have never heard of and you wouldn't find it by a quick google search either. One of the most erotic experiences of my life.

I got zero interest in going to the Philippines after what I've heard from others.

I'll be kissing girls asses for as long as I want until the day it's all over.

Another great thing about Thailand is there's no blacks there. Very few at all.

When I read your comment I am not surprised that you are running out of money in Asian countries and consider to leave 'Cheap Vietnam' looking for a job in Australia.

You might do this for a while, but be aware, one day you will end up as a rather old guy living in the States and lining up for the soup kitchen.

I met many Western men in Thailand who were thinking their Thai bargirl is different....
I still have a postcard from a guy I met in the departure floor at Bangkok Don Mueang Airport - he was thanking me for buying him a meal at the airport - totally bankrupt...he could not even pay for a basic meal anymore - the only valuable he had still in his pocket was the paid return ticket - destination UK.

Since you can predict what my future will be with 100% certainty, I would also like to know what the price of Bitcoin will be in 10 years? Can you please also tell me that?

Back to the UK. Hmmm. A lot of cold, pale, white asses there. I prefer to put my mouth on Asian fanny.

By the way, I'm one of the few people on here who has posted actual videos and photos of my experiences abroad. I haven't seen you post any photos of your life in Japan.

Exactly my point. It's a good place to splash one's money. Kind of a Las Vegas without the casinos, and with weed.

Probably so, but I can't stand the fact that, at the end of the day, they are just there to provide a service. No emotional attachment, a massive language barrier, and they ain't even that cheap. A bit like Winston here, if I ever hung out with these kinds of girls, I would like to think that there's one genuine emotional bone in their body.

You must have been very lucky! Most of these establishments are strictly "no foreigners". Or maybe now things have changes and some bars, BJ karaokes and soaplands accept foreigners.

You got that right.. I personally have no affinity towards Thailand and Bangkok. Too many sexpats go there to bang whores and get high. Too many western debauchery and pollution there in bangkok which has corrupted the local thai women's pysche. Just like the Philippines.
I also heard many horror stories about western men getting financially raped by their thai wife. I heard you have to buy a condo under your name, not your wife's name or else they can divorce rape you as fast as you can blink.

I find Thai women not that attractive.. and bit overrated. Indonesian white women are much better.

Thailand and Philippines are rather different from each other. Living standard is much better in Thailand BUT a good life as a foreigner might result in rather expensive bills. Thailand is not such a cheap place anymore.

I am visiting Thailand since more than 50 years when I was still single/living with a Chinese girlfriend in Malaysia, later on since about 40 years with my Japanese family, and now my two daughters are adults, they are visiting Thailand frequently with our grandchildren.

I have 2 condos in Pattaya, one smaller one in the city center and the other larger one near Jomtien Beach.

It depends what you are looking for if you are visiting Thailand, not every foreigner there is looking for sex (and the best sex customers are known to be Thai men and not foreigners).

Russian men for example show up with a terrible behavior, often full of alcohol, but they hardly mix up with the local Thai girls, they always bring their own women with them, often even their parents, wife, children .... they want to be among themselves.

Chinese visitors usually showing up in groups, staying in hotels which are only for Chinese, they will not disturb you.

Scandinavian people are showing up during cold winter-time, are often elderly couples with money and live in condominium units which were sold mostly to European people.

Some Western men managed to stay in Thailand, they married a Thai woman. Some stay but many fail with their relationship and finally left.

I never had any personal relationship with a Thai woman - but living in Thailand for a while is fairly comfortable I think.

Yes, horror stories, but if you are a Western man and such an idiot that you bring all your money into Thailand and spend it for women you can blame only yourself...

Yes, correct, as a foreigner in Thailand you can only buy a condominium unit in your own name (but this is not different from Philippines, about the same legal situation)

However to live in a condominium has also its advantages. Foreigners are often not living in Thailand all year round and consider it just as a second home (same with me too) - and the house administration takes care of all and everything - guarded building to prevent burglary, roof repairing, painting the building, servicing the elevators, keeping the swimmingpool in full operation, cleaning all public area, make sure that electricity and water supply are functioning, taking care of your vehicle in a secure parking lot and so on... I never had a problem with my condo units during the last 20 years.
We travel to Thailand from Japan without luggage - just passport and the keys and creditcard - after arrival I open my door, all what I need is ready for me...

About Thailand, it depends what you are looking for - but be aware that a comfortable life is not cheap in Thailand and long stay visas are not so easy to get anymore and can be costly, also medical care without health insurance is a serious issue and you should never financially underestimate Thai doctor's fees - airfare, depends from where you come can cost also some money...

Vacation for a few weeks is OK, but longstay? If you are not an expat with a good working contract within a foreign company it is not easy to earn money in Thailand.

Up to you...

I think I'll pass, but thanks for your info anyway. I really appreciate it.
I was never interested in Thailand and Thai women anyway. They seem like a distant far away place and people for me.
I notice many members of this site are fixated on the Philippines and some times Thailand.
Oh well..

I'm running out of money here in Vietnam and Australia looks good with a very high minimum wage. There used to be shit where you could work on a farm in Australia and they would give you a place to sleep also. Since I don't have enough money to pay for housing in Australia, working on a farm sounds like a good idea. Save up a bunch of Australian dollars and then move back to Asia.

Plus Australians are probably a lot nicer than the average American asshole.

At least if you work in Australia you will get to experience another country too. I would think Australians would be friendly to you. All I have met in my travels are friendly.

I would hate to go back to Memphis. I see it is on the top of the worst places to live list frequently. I'm from that area too and it is so broken down.

Thank you for this post friend. You made my day better. Have you been to Australia or just met people from there while traveling? But....I was at the gym recently and an Aussie guy came up and started a conversation with me. He seemed alright. From what I've heard, they're similar to British but more calm and laid back.

You're from Memphis? or somewhere near there? It's only broken down in some areas. But the thing is it's just a Matrix city where everyone does the same shit over and over again. There's no beaches or oceans. There's no mountains to go hiking. The weather is shit and when it's sunny, it's too humid. There's just a vapid vibe to the place. On top of that the people who live there are just kind of bland. They don't have an edge and aren't very interesting. I have NO IDEA why someone would choose that city to live.

The niggers in that city make it unpleasant to live in if you're white. 65% of the city is black. Most of the white people live in the surrounding areas of Memphis and then commute in for work.

Here are more horrible cities in the USA. It is sad such a wealthy country is has this poverty and problems and so many unhappy people. Much of the problem is mismanaged cities by crooked politicians.
