Dealing with hang nails

Post by MrMan »

Several weeks ago, I was wearing some old crock-like shoes that had a busted toe. I wear those in the back yard to go in the garden to take care of the poultry or whatever. I was trying to use my foot to straighten the mat on the floor, and accidentally kicked the open door right where my toe was exposed, slitting my toe nail. I could tell this could easily turn into a really bad hangnail.

After trying a few things, I used superglue and a paper towel on it, and that worked. Basically, I just cut a little bit of paper towel, and superglued it onto the split toenail, holding the toenail together. This prevented the toenail from tearing into a really bad hangnail.

Superglue is good on cuts if it is on skin that doesn't move. If you have time for it to dry, regular superglue works. Otherwise, the medical superglue is really fast.
