PHARRELL - G I R L (2014 CD)

This is my favorite album of the year, and it's only early March.

You know American music nowadays is a.ss when Pharrell a mediocre lead singer with killer background
vocals & good tracks has the best CD of the year.

"Happy" has been played to death, but it's still a hot a.ss song that Outkast and Janell Monae wish they
made.

"Happy", "Gust of Wind" and "(You're The Sh)It Girl", "(Make The p***y) Gush" and "I Know What You Are"
(featuring Alicia Keys) are my favorite tracks on this CD.

I'm surprised they didn't put "Get Lucky" that he did with Daft Punk and veteran R&B/disco super star Nile
Rodgers (61 years old!!) on this CD. Here's the video:




I feel his even though "Marilyn Monroe, Cleopatra, Joan of Arc" is a good 2nd single that he just released;
the strings are almost "Papa Don't Preach"-ie, a-la-Madonna's mid 80s hit.



It's too bad that his "In My Mind" debut solo album CD didn't get accolades because my favorite songs on
there are "Number One" featuring Kanye, "I Really Like You (Girl)" and "Stay With Me" featuring Pusha T
(you can tell I am a real R&B head because I like Urban-sounding R&B) and "Angel" (which the last two
have that Afro-Cuban salsa chord progressions).


Pharrell really loves that vintage Prince Rogers Nelson funk-soul sound, and he pulls it off well.
