Why all these reality tv shows on the air?

I can't believe how many reality tv shows are on the air now! I mean my God, it started with just a couple of shows a few years ago and now there are dozens of reality tv shows on the air! Vh1 alone has about 10 of them on their station! The latest is going to be "Daisy of Love" starring Daisy De la hoya (she is the niece of boxer Oscar De la hoya), the shows starts Sunday April 26, 9 pm eastern on Vh1.

This chick was on another reality show last year called, "The Rock of Love" and was eliminated in the last episode by Bret Michaels. Anyway, I wonder how much money these people make doing these types of shows! I hate to admit it but I do watch some of these shows as they are entertaining and funny! Some of the chicks on these shows are hotter than hell! lol

Now there is a new reality show on called, "The Cougar." It has a 40 year old woman and 20 guys all in their 20's are competing to win her heart! It's on TVLand of all stations! You've got to be kidding me! What guy in his 20's would fight for the right to date a 40 year old woman (and she has 4 children at home). I saw the second episode tonight (Wed. night) and the guys she eliminated really seemed bummed out that they don't have the chance at getting her. Hell, I am in my late 30's and I am only interested in woman that are in their 20's. The idea of dating a "cougar" really turns me off!
