Conversation with a therapist...

Post by Enticer »

So...doing some grief counseling for an ex GF that got knocked up by
accident. We're not together and wont be together....but i'm doing the
right thing by going to a counselor for her..and myself. We lost a baby
in late Dec.

I stated that I cant go back with her as I do not know what my future
holds. I stated that I may consider looking to a foreign country for a
foreign woman. I stated I was fed up with spoiled rotten entitled
Americans...all of them, myself included. I am VERY MUCH seeking
abroad...but kept it as if i wasn't sure, as to not upset my ex and
look like a dick.

The therapist laughed and said "Wow...are you sure you dont need some
counseling alone?"

That was last week. This week, I came in and waited for the right time.
Ironically, when talking about older people she made a comment about how some people dont think before
they speak and can upset others. I said..."yeah, I know...sounds like
you and last week."

The rest of the conversation went like this:

Her: Me? What do you mean?
Me: Last week, I told you I may seek a foreign woman. You mocked and
basically assumed I needed professional help because of this statement.
Her: Oh.....ummm...ok. Well, I dont remember...
Me: Hmmm...let me help. *I tell her in her exact words*
Her: Oh.
Me: Yeah....so what you said was uneducated, unprofessional,
pretencious and very Lanco county. (People here are snooty)
Her: Well, I didnt realize that might upset you
Me: Well, you disrespected someone you know nothing about. Did you know
I have over 1000 hours studying the cultures of the world and how it
pertains to marriage? Did you know I have over 3000hrs studying the
mate selection process? Did you know I have over 2000hrs studying the
female orgasm and female ejaculation?
Her: No, I didnt know that. Sounds like you are well educated.
Me: You could say that.
Her: I am very sorry. I was wrong.

Yeh....so that kinda changed her tune.....

Anyone ever been mocked for wanting to look abroad? Its amazing how many Americans think that the American way...entitled, spoiled and often rude, is the norm and people are crazy for wanting to met someone outside the US. Guess its tough seeing yourself from the outside in...

Unfortunately, the answer is - of course we have. I don't want to go overboard and make it sound like everyone will give you shit - but some people will, even some allegedly enlightened professionals.

Get another therapist.

ha, she isnt mine. She is helping out a friend. If she were mine, by the end of the next session, she'd be on the sofa, not me....
