Call centers open to US tax on outsourcing
LOCAL COMPANIES taking in work outsourced from the United States are open to a proposal by a US senator to disclose and tax each call to an overseas contact center to discourage American firms from outsourcing to low-cost labor countries.

The Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPA/P) vowed not to go around such a scheme if it becomes law in the US, but said outsourcing is dictated by cost and therefore inevitable.
