It is not funny at all. What Orient Expat did was legally seen very risky.

Spoofing is about deceiving people into believing an email or Web site originates from a source that it does not.

To create a fake website of a well-known news agency and set up an URL which is similar to the URL of this news agency with the intention to misguide readers with wrong information might be considered as a form of identity theft - a criminal offence.

However in Europe the 1st April is the special day of hoax and the orientexpat-server is in London.
As there was no intention to harm anybody, for example collecting money for a fake charity or something like that, such spoofing for a few hours will be tolerated as a cultural thing on that day only, 1st of April.

As you can check yourself, the fake BBC-website is removed and also the thread to mock people who believed it is the original BBC was also removed quickly to avoid legal problems.

Both URL are now offline.

Well, Winston, to be honest, I remember you and also Cornfed, when you both were writing some comments on Orient Expat and openly said, while I fully agree with you and your observation about Western women, your solutions you offer are highly controversial, sometimes clearly over the top. - We can talk later about it in more details, if you want.

About the Orient Expat forum as it is now, it was not always like that. The original idea to create a forum about Asia, covering a region from Japan, China, Korea, Philippines up to Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia was very good.

Times are changing however and people change too. I joined the forum 8 years or so ago and the admin, posting as Mandrake, Mandrunk and Gamnan was OK.

He was however running out of money, moved back to UK where he was working as an occasional truck-driver and now he is a self-opinionated bitter loser spending his life in a village in Northern Thailand near Myanmar border.
He has nothing to do except playing with his computer all day and night (creating 1st April hoax webpages etc.) while sitting in the fields or in his wooden hut full with termites and mice. Good luck to him. I feel sorry for him.

I was kicked out of the Orient Expat forum a few month ago after about 11000 comments. Don't ask me why. Not a big deal anyway. Moderation of the OE Forum is now very dishonest and arbitrary. Some members are really bad, just bothering each other with stupid comments. It seems I was replaced with a whiny Asian-American woman.

But frankly some of the threads and posts on OE are very misogynistic. I get the whole "boys will be boys" thing and I don't take any offense to the girly pics, but can we please stop with the whole "Western woman" bashing?

I have never posted my employment details online, any of my family's employment details, never posted our income details, nothing. Of course, these are all private affairs, and remain so. . .

You think someone with no money can fly a family of four between Thailand and Europe multiple times, obtain permanent residency and citizenship in both countries for the entire family. Regarding my wife, I guess you are one of the many misguided individuals that think all Thai women live up a tree and sell buttons for coconuts. Well if you got kicked out of OE, you are welcome here, as long as you're not an a-hole. Unlike OE, we stand for free speech and truth.

Boy that Mandrake sure sounds hateful, unfriendly and nasty. The way he talks is very immature too. Obviously he's not happy, because happy people don't talk like that.

If he's broke and makes less than his Thai wife, why doesn't he just monetize his OE website with Google Adsense or something, and make a living that way? That's what all serious webmasters are doing nowadays.

Lol, I assume this post is not really form Mandrunk, but rather from some hoaxer trying to cruelly satirize him. About him, reading between the lines I would say he was a sometime truck driver punctuated by periods of unemployment. He evidently saved up enough money during a string of jobs to get to Thailand, where he shacked up with a solo mother. Her family gave him odd jobs to earn his keep, which he did in addition to playing on the computer. He went back to the UK when someone said he could drive a truck for a while, thinking he was going to be the breadwinner and reclaim his nutsack, but that turned out to be temporary, so he had to go back to being a house husband Thailand. I image his in-laws paid for all this.

As I said already, Winston, while I am fully supportive to your observations regarding feminism and useless Western women, I am a moderate MRA, I find your way of solutions somewhat controversial. Openly said, many comments in your forum are somewhat hateful. I do not 'hate' anybody. I think, hate is a way to nowhere, only destroying yourself.

I understand however you are in USA, Asian-American and doing a business out of it. For sure there is a big market in USA for taking care of men who are badly treated by women and the legal system.

I have no intention to post a lot of comments in your forum, but I saw this thread about Orient Expat and I want to help a little to correct 'right and wrong' concerning these few sad Orient Expat losers. I am active in another MGTOW (men going their own way) forum already since many years.

I am not sure if 'Jonathan Head' is the same person as the Orient Expat admin. To be sure, I would need the signup and login data (IP etc) - only the admin (= you) can get them out of your forum. - There are some other crazy guys with Orient Expat who like to bother others.

Why do you say that our Happier Abroad solution of going abroad and dating foreign women is controversial? Why are you unsure about it? There is plenty of proof that it works and is the best solution. No one else has a solution. Staying in America on a sinking Titanic is not the answer. Look at the quote in my signature. It makes perfect sense. Also, my photos and videos are total proof, as well as the testimonials on this forum. So why do you have reservations about it?

Jonathan Head has a similar writing style to Mandrake. Who else but him would feel the need to defend him? However, his personality is nature, immature, unfriendly, and therefore is not credible. Anything he says is suspect. He also sounds very mentally unstable.

The profile Jonathan Head is associated with an email from OE, that has an @orientexpat.com at the end of it. Only admin could create that. So it seems like him.

Yes, I am the admin of Orient Expat. If you have the audacity to describe me as immature, while at the same time hosting, and refusing to remove such a blatantly libellous topic, and then state that you, as webmaster, are not responsible for it's removal, you really are stupid beyond belief. With great freedom comes great responsibility. Are you you're willing to stand up in court and say you have the right to host this content about me and my family? Seriously?

This topic is already now cached in Google, and will therefore remain that way and online for many months, no matter what you do now, as you failed to act quickly enough to remove the comments (your responsibility as webmaster). Even if you do somehow realise the magnitude of what's been written here, it's already too late. Search engines, scrapers, whatever, all cache this data. What are you going to do about that you foolish man.

The law is very clear on this. I have emailed you and asked for the vile, defamartory comments by cornfed and thepimp removed. Our daughter is 12 years old you son of a bitch. I also want all references to my name and my website removed as well. I want this topic deleting, you'll have to deal with the legal side of the search engines and my screengrabs later.
