Mental problems caused by shitty parent

It's kinda creepy reading these posts in this thread and seeing my story being very very similar to my own. I had to move out while in college because my dad was trying to force me to drop out and get a job doing manual labor. I moved in with my now ex wife and bummed off her for about 6 months, then went back into IT, eventually becoming very successful in it, but my two younger brothers received the opposite treatment I got. They get angry at me because I don't kiss my father's ass like they do. He was very mean to me but not them.

The best thing the OP can do for himself is to gain a skill or trade in something. That will help whether you live here or anywhere else in the world. No one can take a skillset away from you. You don't have to have college or a GED necessarily either, just get some skill of value.
