Why won't AW take a man's hand when exiting a vehicle?

Post by Winston »

I was wondering something.

In America, women don't usually like to take a man's hand when she's stepping off a bus or hopping on rocks across a stream (unless she is really into a guy). But in Old West TV shows, women in dresses allow men to hold their hand or carry them out of horse carriages.

In Russia though, every female will take a man's hand when she steps out of a bus or taxi, even if she doesn't like the man. They seem to feel honored to.

Why?

Do you think it's more feminine to take a man's hand when getting off a bus or car?

I'm sure you've all seen in old movies when women took a man's hand when exiting a vehicle or horse carriage.

Are women who refuse to take a man's hand trying too hard to be independent?

Real feminine, gracious women haven't been around in the US since Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O./Kennedy left the scene (Hepburn was Belgian, by the way, not American).

Women today think they're being tough and independent by acting like men. It's frankly disgusting to see. I remember coming back to the US from a few years in Russia, where the women are so proud of their femininity, and I remember thinking to myself that the women here look, dress, and act like men, and the men look, act, and dress like women (metrosexual). Ever notice how Western women prefer gay men and don't like normal manly men? They will tell you that the gay men don't threaten them, but in reality I think they don't want a real man who knows how to run the show.
