Indonesia = future philippines?

Post by newlifeinphilippines »

I was talking to someone and they said indonesian women are great and open to foreigners. but cambodian and Vietnamese women too conservative and dont have sex. Plus the government is quite oppressive. He said thailand women are great for relationship if you get away from the hoes and tourist spots. He said filipinas were the worst in quality from his experience so far.

I have noticed that Falcon seems very happy in indonesia. I definitely think indonesia would be a place for tourism and possibly a girlfriend and maybe thailand for more of a 'fun or vacation girlfriend". Mrman also found his wife in indonesia. Ive seen some other videos of some guy getting many indonesian girls. Also many indonesians work abroad just like filipinas.

Indonesia is very different from island to island. Forget about the Western island of Sumatra. For sure Indonesia is not my favorite country, and Jakarta not my favorite city.

There are some islands with Hindu, Buddhist and Christian population.
However Indonesia is not known to be very visa-friendly for long stay to foreigners. Very bureaucratic society.

Personally I prefer Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Cambodia to Indonesia. But of course other people might not agree with me and will not share my opinion.

For women though what do you think? The only problem I can see is the muslim extremism.

Cambodia is pretty backwards and thailand censors 100,000 websites. So i dont agree with your idea that those places are good for long stays.

I was thinking of other Asian countries regarding visa procedures. Indonesia is not easy for long stay.

About internet censorship, it is everywhere in Asia, not only in Thailand. China is worse, as its internet censorship system is very sophisticated. In Thailand most censored pages are political, not much what you will miss as a foreigner.

Cambodia is primitive, but it offers easy business visa 1 year.

Yes, Indonesia has very nice women, Muslim women are the same ethnic group as people in Malaysia and Philippines, I have no problem with communication as I speak Malay. My impression is there are not many Muslim fanatics in Indonesia, as a foreigner you can stay away from villages where are only Muslims like in Sumatra. Indonesian women are often very calm and modest.

Simply said, no country I know in South East Asia is perfectly fitting Western foreigners, all of them have some pros and some cons, it depends on the individual what he prefers. Females should not be a major criteria if you consider relocation. Religion maybe yes.

About marriage with foreign men be aware that Indonesia is not very open to that idea, there were even discussions in the past to charge the foreigner for a lot of money in return to a marriage certificate.

I dont think any of these countries are good for long stays except for phil when you combine everything. But for visits there seems like there might be better places in nearby countries on some things in regards to women or infrastructure or things to do.

actually alot is porn i heard in thailand/cambodia. Yes religion is important cause i dont want muslim extremist and i want to find a girl who is christian. although they have christians in vietnam but the government is oppressive.

Indonesia is on my radar but if I were to live there and marry I'd prefer Indonesian-Chinese. Yohan I'm going to Malaysia next year. What do you think of Malaysian women? Chinese? Indian? Malay? Again I prefer Chinese because I'm Chinese myself.

Indonesia will never be anything like the Philippines. The cultural gap is huge. It's like comparing apples and oranges.
The Philippines is far more Western than Indonesia can ever be.

Filipinos and Indonesians are both open to foreigners, but very different kinds of foreigners.

Indonesia is culturally and linguistically close to Malaysia, Singapore, and to some extent South Asia and the Middle East. Indonesian women are to Malaysian, Singaporean, and to a lesser extent, Pakistani and Bangladeshi men as Filipina women are to Americans.

The Philippines is very close to Anglophone and Hispanophone cultures, and most Filipinos find it much harder to relate to South Asian and Middle Eastern culture, just as white Americans do. And vice versa.

Guys from Sinosphere cultures find it far easier to relate to Vietnamese women than to either Filipina or Indonesian women. They rarely even think about Filipina or Indonesian women, just like white Americans tend not to think that much about Vietnamese women.

Even though you're ethnic Chinese like me, you also think very differently from them. I have trouble connecting with most ethnic Chinese women from large Chinese cities, the US, Singapore, and pretty much all the big urban areas. In both Indonesia and Taiwan, I was able to connect easily with ethnic Javanese women, but not ethnic Chinese women. The native Indonesian women I know are both Muslims and Christians.

Rural Chinese women from Yunnan and Guizhou are a completely different breed though, and I found their temperaments to be much more like Vietnamese women than like Taiwanese or even Shanghai women. They don't have have that fussy, judgmental, spoiled "daddy's girl" air around them.

Falcon I am glad to see you back! Are Indonesian and Malaysian Chinese women materialistic and judgmental compared to Filipinas, Southern Chinese, Bietnamese and ethnic Indonesians? I will be in Malaysia and Vietnam next year hoping to find a partner and I will also meet a nice, intelligent, older Filipina in Singapore. Her name is Rose, she is 25 and I am 18. I am also talking with 2 Indonesian women on DIA, one is Muslim / Indonesian while the other one is Christian / Chinese.

Are most Chinese Indonesians fluent in Mandarin or a dialect?

Great to see you again Baoniang, I rarely post here these days since I'm quite busy in real life.

It all really depends. You'll have to go see for yourself.

Malaysian and Indonesian Chinese women vary a lot depending on their socio-economic backgrounds. There are general trends and patterns, but exceptions abound. Jakarta Chinese are mostly of Hokkien heritage tend to be more like the snobbish Thai-Chinese in Bangkok, while the Chinese in West Kalimantan are mostly Hakka, are very poor, and are completely different from the Jakarta Chinese in many ways.

Malaysian Chinese are generally very fluent in Mandarin, but not Indonesian Chinese. Many may tend to be a little more like Singaporeans, but again, there's a lot of variation. Teochow, Hokkien, and Cantonese are the most common.

25 is all right, it's not much of an age gap. You'll probably like their maturity much more. I'm also about a few years older than you are, but have dated women who are 30+.

I've never met women through online dating sites though, so if you're meeting women through dating sites, you might be getting a different demographic.
