Ukraine's bitter message to Russia:"We'll never be sibl

Post by ladislav »

A really powerful song but it's in Russian so I've translated. The translation does not rhyme but here it is:

You and us will never be brothers, not even stepbrothers,
Not through ancestral land, not even on the mother’s line
Because you have no will to be free.

You call yourselves our elder ones
And we would like to be someone’s younger ones, but not yours
There are so many of you; too bad you are so faceless

You’re enormous, but we’re still greater than you

You can’t keep to yourselves, you keep bothering us
May you one day choke on your envy
Liberty is a word unknown to you
For you’re bound in chains since childhood

In your country silence is golden
But we burn Molotov cocktails
Our blood is boiling hot with fury
So, what kind of unseeing relatives are you?

There's fearlessness in our eyes
We are dangerous even without weapons
We’ve grown up and become brave
Even while in the sniper’s cross-hair

Despots were trying to put us on our knees
But we rose up and changed everything
And now these rats are trying to hide in vain
But they’ll be bathing in their own blood soon

You are getting new orders from your leaders
While here we have flames of uprisings burning
Your lot is a czar, while ours is democracy
No, you and us we’ll never be siblings.

God bless the heroes on all sides, past and present.

I pray for peaceful division.
