Ukrainian Folk Pop

Postby ladislav » February 15th, 2015, 9:20 am

This guy is singing with 14 girls. The title is "Between the Banks" and is about the beauty of a river. This is from near Romania so you can hear Gypsy undertones. Look at how the girls are dressed. Also a bit Romania-like.

The digested translation:

The river Dniester rushes to the sea
Without stopping. Just like my life
The banks are encrusted in willows like lace hems.
The stork flies high as if embracing the countryside with its wings
I will walk up to it and scoop the river's cold water.
I will find a girl who lives near that river
And let her get lost In my song.
A brain is a terrible thing to wash!
