That's an interesting way of describing the situation. But yeah, obviously Russia's army isn't as strong as Putin portrayed it to be for the past decade or two, that much is certain at this point. The whole thing is kind of a massive shit show lol. The way in which some people are overly attached to Putin and Russia is kind of pathetic, and I will enjoy seeing the collective meltdown of 'the right' if and when Russia's army crumbles. Given the huge amount of NATO support pumped into Ukraine, it's not unlikely.

Ukranians have a strong sense of national pride. They also have a strong distrust of the Russians, which did everything they could to weaken Ukraine as a state to serve the interests of Moscow alone. To the Ukranians, allowing Moscow to win would be akin to Republicans letting Democrats forcibly take over their states in the United States- it is completely unthinkable, because they know their best interests are nowhere near the minds of their aggressors.

This war is a very complicated, convoluted affair with many parties involved and both benefiting and losing taking place. A mixture of aggression, opportunism and stupidity.
First of all, as to getting out of the country if you were a Ukrainian man, it is not allowed for men 18-60. And those who did get out are now about to be extradited back from Poland, etc. So, if you were a Ukrainian man, you would simply be stopped at the border.
You saw what the Russians did in occuppied territories. Innocent people killed,wives raped, kids raped, and killed. Old people killed.
So you think fighting for your country is stupid and you would rather get out. But you are not allowed to get out even if you are a non patriot. By law.

Most are non Jews that are in this war. Many Jews are on the Ukrainian side fighting as regular soldiers. And some Jews on the Russian side are oligarchs. But maybe 3-4 people only. Hardly a conspiracy. There are some 300,000 Jews in Russia. Those are not wanted. The super rich oligarchs are another story.
The Russians do not like Jews period. They want them out of the country. And they'd been kicking them out for 200 years already. To the US, Palestine, etc.

There is no such concept in those countries as it is not America. It is Slavic vs non Slavic and then Russian vs other Slavs vs Anglo Saxons. No " whites" there.

Surrender is not that easy in a messy war zone, when you have to cross mine fields and no guarantee the Russians won't mistake you for wanting to attack versus surrender. Desertion a better idea, but Ukraine has special enforcer soldiers to stop that. So you'd have to shoot a fellow Ukrainian soldier while deserting, which is murder, and no guarantee you'll succeed or that you will be able to escape eventual capture and punishment for murder. Avoiding conscription also difficult, because most Ukrainian civilians don't have weapons but commissars do, and even if civilians did have weapons, once again it's murder or at a minimum assault with deadly weapon to fight off the commissar. Borders are all carefully guarded, so you'd have to kill a border guard, then no guarantee the neighboring country won't send you back, since you're guilty of murder. As for the leaders and higher ranking officers, they are hardly stupid, because as soon as war ends, money spigot gets turned off and they are toast, so they desperately need to keep the war going until they all have escape parachutes ready.

As if USA would be more powerful if it moved the border of North Dakota north some so that USA "owned" some more farmland. Ownership means nothing. Military control is what matters. Ukraine will always be a vassal of another empire. It tried switching empires from Russia to USA and is currently being punished for that act of treachery.

Good analysis. Territory doesn't mean "squat" unless, it has large deposit of oil, minerals, natural gas, strategic mountain side, uranium, etc.
What the Russians are holding the Eastern Ukraine and black sea has oil and natural gas and all valuable resources in Ukraine.
The rest of the Ukraine is just farmland. I don't understand why Ukrainians are so fixated with farmlands and villages and wasting hundreds of thousands of men to get couple of square km of farmland. . Those territories don't matter when you have lost your entire NATO trained army and equipment. Both as really really hard to replace and humans don't "respawn" like in Call of Duty or in CS GO.

The Ukrainian Southern offensive is pretty stupid. They should have kept it a secret and not announce it on Western media for several months, giving Russians ample time to prepare. And they just attack without proper air support and they keep sending troops in piece meal fashion across the entire front. It's retarded.
